He lacked manners and courage today.

This is the best and most succinct statement I've read yet about Rush's show today. That's it in a nutshell.

Rush is an Apple guy, hence was three hours about Steve Jobs.

Yeah but with all that happened since Mark’s breaking it yesterday I was surprised there wasn’t at least a comment or two of followup today. Just a little strange in light of Rush’s silence too.

So, if Rush doesn’t talk about what you think he should then he doesn’t deserve your respect?

Are you serious?

I’ve listened to Rush for over 20 years, and I’m sorry I don’t remember him being on the Palin Bandwagon.

He’s lost your respect? Dude, you need to back away from the cool aid!

Clearly, Rush talks about things you think he should talk about. Why else would you listen to him and respect him?

He avoided talking about a major political development in conservative politics -- pertaining to a person he opined OFTEN would be a game changer if she got in the race. When she declared she wasn't getting in ... the next day, silence from him on that topic. THAT IS A FACT. You respect him for that? Who's drinking koolaid again?

I think more than one reason.

Maggie Thatcher is Rush’s ideal leader. He admires her as much or even more than Reagan.

Sarah Palin at one point seemed to Rush a possible type of Reagan and even more so, Maggie Thatcher. She had that potential in his mind, from things he said earlier on.

He’s got to feel conflicted and let down. He has said already, some time ago, that he had concluded she probably would not run. But he included a caveat that really, he did not know for sure what she was up to.

I believe he tired of waiting. He tired of not knowing for sure. People who thought her waiting game was great are one thing, Rush is another, entirely different animal. I believe he likes things clear cut. Often he says, of himself, that he lives in “Literalville”, not in some kind of wishing for or hoping for state of mind.

I don’t think he wanted to talk about Sarah Palin, for that reason.

And coming on top of her decision and almost burying it, was the death of Steve Jobs. Rush was clearly in mourning over it. You don’t have to agree with the time he gave it on his show, to accept the reality that he was grieving.

Levin said all he wanted and needed to say about her when he broke her news and interviewed her. I fully understand why he did not want to step on that moment by bringing it up again.

I don’t know why Beck avoided it, but Beck was so in for Sarah Palin it was painful to see. At the same time, he has always avoided committing himself to any politician. He has visited repeatedly with all of them but will not trust any of them enough to endorse them. Often he asks...”Where is our George Washington?” Says he keeps praying for our Washington, but hasn’t seen him yet.

But still, he was smitten both with Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann as potential great leaders. Gets on well with Rick Perry, too, and is in the process of moving to Texas. Yet, he held back committing to one them. So, given how things have turned out on that front, I doubt he wants to talk about Palin.

Must be kind of a wrenching subject.

Just because he gave up on Palin does not mean he couldn’t comment on it.

Any candidate isn’t relevant after they announce that they’re not running, but that doesn’t mean he can’t mention it.

No, I respect him for not giving any more time to an empty political suit.

That’s worthy of my respect.

Polybius gets his stuff from the enemy camp. What is he doing on Free Republic?

Be wary of Polybius. He's DESTRUCTIVE and does his best to divide conservatives against each other. He is bad news.

Today I caught him posting anti-Cain material to two sites: one of the two was thinkprogress...

You do the math.

Cheers!

You mean you saw Polybius posting by that name on another forum, or he was posting anti-Cain stuff on FR from the site thinkprogress?

I was doubtbul before, but now I'm thinking Polybius IS a professional operative trying to create rancorous division between conservative camps because WHAT ELSE would come to Free Republic and post a graphic originating from ultra-socialist nutso left websites?

I tried to post this to the mod, but when I typed in "Admin Mod" it wouldn't accept it, so I included Jim Robinson and "administrator" on this post.
