Explain how, and why you think, Palin could defeat Obama ( Vanity )
10/3/11

Posted on 10/03/2011 6:51:37 PM PDT by sushiman

I was supporting Cain , but for a variety of reasons have ended that support . There's no one else currently running whom I wouldn't have to hold my nose for when voting . I've always thought that Palin was unelectable ( if she ran , obviously ) , but am open to being convinced otherwise . Thanks in advance .

I am at a loss as to why anyone needs her to run now. It reminds of one of my favorite scenes from Lawrence of Arabia. Lawrence has just lost one of his two servants, a boy, to quicksand. As pennance he feels he must walk instead of ride his camel. The surviving servant boy rides and can’t understand why his master walks. At some point he asks, “Why lord? Why do you walk? It serves no purpose.”

If the purpose is to win the Republican nomination, and then the general election, strategy is of utmost importance. Romney has been running for 5 years. Pawlenty got in before anyone. Even Perry seems to have jumped the gun, and he’s only been in for a few weeks. I would say to every candidate that has gotten in WITH name recognition:

“Why lord? Why do you run so early? It serves no purpose.”

Sorry about the double-post. But it allows for more bitching...

If she doesn’t run, Free Republic will suffer, if for no other reason than the anti-Palin posters will lose their favorite hobby: Deconstructing Palin.

Hoeven was a fairly good governor, but many of the economic successes he enjoyed during his terms in office were started by policies enacted under Ed Schafer, to give credit where credit is due. That environment created then helped the boom in oil drilling, including Bakken development (we were drilling Bakken wells in Montana, just across the border in 2000), had streamlined and improved the efficiency of State Government, which Hoeven continued to a degree, but the State budget under Hoeven grew substantially, supported by the oil revenues.

Education and social services remain the 600 lb gorillas in the room, because virtually every request for increases is granted, and the systems demand greater fiscal scrutiny.

You've hit the jackpot sh!t-ster. Post a VANITY, the purpose of which is to invite cr@p posts regarding Palin. A bit trollish don't you agree?

My previous post to you stands as proven as per this one... you are pretty much childish and a Palin troll.

Read Going Rogue, and you’ll know why she needs to run. She is quite simply the most powerful remedy that America has seen since Reagan.

Pennsylvania is always a tease.

Something not in the matrix of calculation, here. Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Mexico, Michigan, and Nevada are all oil-producing states.

The new economic hope isn't coming from Washington D.C., but from the oil patch. That is why North Dakota has 3% unemployment statewide (even though only the Western third of the state has oil and gas production). It is the shining hope of thousands in Pennsylvania, in the Marcellus Shale, and now in the Utica, which extends under Ohio, and other midwestern and Appalachian states as well. Michigan is also an oil producer, one which has been frustrated by the inability to drill laterally under the Great Lakes and elsewhere, but which holds promise there as well.

The shining economic beacon of energy production, of jobs, of manufacturing, of security, of prosperity--not just survival--is a game changer, and Palin, more than any other candidate, seems to have not only a handle on that, but the ability to sit down at the table and ensure the folks in those regions will get a fair shake, that there will be a minimum of environmental damage as well.

It is the Federal Government which has done the most to damage Alaska's oil exploration, not the State, and having a cheerleader for responsible oil exploration who will play it straight for the people as well could have a great deal of influence on the outcome of the election.

Hoeven, as a running mate would bring the experience of having been governor during the greatest boom in decades in energy production in any state in the lower 48.

Resource development can be a key platform plank which fits closely with economic recovery.

40+% as an independent candidate. The immigration issue is strong in CO. If you don’t have his backing, the state will be blue. It’s that simple.

Read it, even read Bristol’s book, which was very good. (Better than Odonnell’s book at any rate.) Palin is best on the issues, doesn’t have any skeletons (they would have found something long ago), and has led an exemplary (sp? tis late!) life... What the hell does she have to do? The only question that remains is: Does America in its current iteration deserve honorable leaders? Ans: NO.
