To be fair, the kid misinterprets scripture. The immoral sexual behavior is wrong, not the "being".
That being said when I was in college (early 90’s) people started being kicked out of my school for perceived homophobic remarks, including lame jokes. Literally kicked out for a non- violent, lame joke. Kicked out for "hate speech". I answered back that not only are they allowed to have their own opinion and beliefs in this country, how is kicking them out exactly “educating” them? The only answer was that they were "not able to be educated" -- in other words like me, excellent grades but wouldn't follow their liberal agenda. Although I'll admit, young and stupid at the time I'd regurgitate certain Prof's views to get the “A”. Those were usually the classes you could save money on— useless because you learned nothing and didn't even have to buy the book, just write a PC paper and final exam and you were good. Then again, those classes did teach me a lot about loser libs! But it's to bad so many students took those liberal lines as gospel.
The kid tells the truth and gets thrown out of school for it. I’m never going to get used to this communist police state.

Now to me what the teacher said and did was far more inappropriate for the classroom than what the student said.
Why is a German teacher discussing homosexuality or sexuality period in his/her class?
These matters should be left to parents to discuss not teachers.
This teacher deserves a reprimand as does the principal for not reprimanding the teacher.

Speaking as someone who has no problem with homosexuality, even I think that is stupid.
I am a teacher. If one of my students said such a thing, I would just redirect the conversation or just move-on.
Punishing a student for expressing an opinion like that is just nothing more than the teacher abusing his power.
Until liberals fear retribution (whether it is physical or jail time for their crimes) enjoy being treated like crap.
