Two Highway Collisions With Moose

A woman was taken to the Whitbourne Clinic for observation Sunday evening after the car she was in collided with a moose on the Trans-Canada Highway.
The accident happened just before 8:30 p.m. in the Hodgewater Line area about 100 kilometres west of St. John’s.
RCMP said the woman's injuries were not serious.
Early Monday morning, RCMP from the Holyrood detachment reported there was a moose-vehicle accident between Makinsons and Bay Roberts.
The moose was killed. Police didn’t say if anyone in the vehicle was injured.

My son and I are headed out tomorrow to see if we can find any moose to fill our freezer, so we can appreciate this story. We use a .30-06 up here, though, not a car. LOL

We have many moose encounters by out cabin in Wyoming, usually resulting in injury. They’re known to be mean.
One morning as I was walking the dogs when we came across a big one. It didn’t notice us until the dog started barking at it. Then it turned towards us in the charging position. We graciously backed away and were spared the Wrath of the Moose.
