Original c.1870 carte de visite showing a man who looks exactly like Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it's him and that he is some sort of walking undead / vampire, et cetera, who quickens / reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host.

This is not a trick photo of any kind and has not been manipulated in Photoshop or any other graphics program. It's an original photo of a man who lived in Bristol, TN sometime around the Civil War.

That’s funny...we have a receptionist at the office who’s a little flighty. When I’m working in the field and calling back in to be connected to somebody in the office, she’ll rigorously follow our company’s protocol and inquire, “May I tell him/her who’s calling?” I normally give a bogus name like “Yeah, it’s Grover Cleveland,” or “This is Harry Belafonte.” Just this week, I used “Nicolas Cage.”

Nah. The ears are totally different. Can’t see the eye color in the old pic. Eerie similarities in the other features, yes.

The Thanatos archive is a collection of memorial photos. In other words, dead people. Used to be quite the thing back when. You would hire someone to take a picture of your dead loved one in as lifelike a pose as possible.
I don’t know how they have sat this guy up, but he’s probably dead. Looks it, in the eyes.

Twilight Zone episode: "Long Live William Jameson" features a college professor (ca. 1960) who is found to have served in the Civil War and who, in fact, is over 2000 years old.

I didn’t know they did such a thing. Perhaps that is why his face is so askew. His hands look odd, too.

When I wrote my masters thesis it was entitled “Pleistocene Fossils of McFaddin Beach, High Island, Texas, A Thanatocoenos Assemblege of Vertebrate Fossils”. I had never heard the word until I did that report. I liked the word, but was never able to ease it into a real, day-to-day sentence. Thanatos....like butter on the tongue...smooth. I don’t like what it implies..death.
