The 9/11 rescue dogs: Portraits of the last surviving animals who scoured Ground Zero one decade on
During the chaos of the 9/11 attacks, where almost 3,000 people died, nearly 100 loyal search and rescue dogs and their brave owners scoured Ground Zero for survivors. Now, ten years on, just 12 of these heroic canines survive, and they have been commemorated in a touching series of portraits entitled 'Retrieved'.
The dogs worked tirelessly to search for anyone trapped alive in the rubble, along with countless emergency service workers and members of the public.
Travelling across nine states in the U.S. from Texas to Maryland, Dutch photographer Charlotte Dumas, 34, captured the remaining dogs in their twilight years in their homes where they still live with their handlers, a full decade on from 9/11.
Their stories have now been compiled in a book, called Retrieved, which is published on Friday, the tenth anniversary of the attacks.

As the tenth anniversary of 9/11 approaches, neither the victim’s families, the 9/11 first responders nor the clergy are invited to the national ceremony in New York City. It is an orchestrated event to redefine what truly happened. The whole “day of service” agenda is an attempt to get us to forget what happened so that we lose our resolve to uphold freedom.
Don't let Obama and the nihilistic liberals drain 9/11 of all meaning.
Our voices need to be heard not only at Town Hall sessions or Tea Party demonstrations but in the very halls of Congress. We have to speak out to stop the desecration of September 11th..

Leftists continually fight for terrorist’s rights while trampling all over the rights of Americans
Obama is at the forefront of UN efforts to create Islamic blasphemy laws in the West disregarding free speech.
The U.S. government refuses to call the radical Islamic enemy by name but Democrat party leaders smear average America citizens in the peaceful TEA Party by calling them terrorists simply because they want our leaders to respect the Consitution.
Obama stated in 'Dreams From My Father' long ago: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

I loved the pictures of the recovery dogs, and loved the 9-11 presentation. It surprises me, just a little bit, that I still have the same reaction to memories of 9-11, now, that I had then.
Husband was active military then and we were stationed in Germany when 9-11 happened. I remember sinking to my knees in front of the TV and breaking into tears that didn’t stop for days. Both daughters were serving, also, in the AF and the Navy, and son was a merchant mariner working the ferries between CT and NY. I was so afraid for my family. I won’t forget what happened- ever.
I realize, however, that now we face danger from internal traitors as much as we do external terrorists. I won’t forget that, either.
I know...still breaks your heart to watch those scenes from that day.
On November 6th, 2012 we'll be voting one of those internal traitors terrorists OUT of the White House.
Take comfort in that my friend. It is the only thing that keeps me from going absolutely insane some days. The terrorist in the White House has done more damage to our country than the muslim-islamic terrorists could've ever done.
