We are adults and most on FR are very intelligent persons. I think we can decide if a candidate is right for us.
How about stop repeating the same Gardasil, Texas corridor, immigration stories over and over and over. Most have seen them by now if they have been paying attention. Most have judged the stories and condemn Perry to hell for them or they think that a president just might have different priorities than a state governor.
Screaming at us in all caps isn't going to change any minds. FR isn't the entire universe of voters. We are a very small pool of voters. If you're hell bent on trashing a candidate, it is likely that your efforts are wasted trying to persuade FR posters to change their minds about a candidate. Start standing out by the road with a sign telling your horror stories, pestering people in restaurants and buying billboards and advertising in newspapers and TV. You will have much more impact.
If you insist on cherry picking the negatives, can we do the same to you reviewing every decision and action that you have taken in your life? How would that work out for you? Honestly showing everything you have done, could you withstand the scrutiny?
I realize some of you insist that we are making a horrible mistake. The primary isn't until next year. Stop screaming. OK?
Neither, it’s a calling to a more important position for the good of the entire country. Getting Obama out of Washington for good is a noble calling and Perry is ready to answer that call. Hopefully anyone who wins the Republican nomination will step up and authorize the moving vans to clean out 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Type what? More nonsense like Texans don’t want a fence?
How many Texans on this thread alone want a fence? Speak up ya’ll! Seems D has no idea what her fellow Texans think on the issue.
He said the law “may be right for Arizona but it ain’t exactly right for Texas.”
Thats right. because it is not up to Texas to secure 1250 mi of border. That is a federal issue.
And beyond that, we dont want the Feds infringing on property rights and watering rights.
Perry is not the problem. The Fed is the problem.
Lean hard on Filepe Calderon
I wasn’t aware the time limit for running had expired.
Michelle Bachmann founded the House Tea Party caucus; she did not wait meekly for the castrati in the Pubble hierarchy to give her the go-ahead. Cain went directly to the people through the free media. Palin fought the corrupt establishment in her state. Those are my kind of people. Not some hack politician who panders to our nation's enemies, while parroting conservative rhetoric.
That's why Sarah quit, too.
It doesn't really matter. The minute Sarah declares, the RINO Cowboy will fade into the background like the pink ties he wears.
Could someone explain this? Please!
Rick Perry with ACORN
lol! I think he will fade anyway, but that was funny.
Yep, he was asked a question about this in an interview. He went upon being formally invited, he said, out of curiousity. He never went again. He was never asked again. He said, “I guess they didn’t like me”.
Another FReeper posted awhile back when this was mentioned, that Maggie Thatcher did the exact same thing. She was invited to attend, she went out of curiousity, she never went back, she was never asked back.
Rick Perry is a professional RINO politician with a slick political staff, but no real history of true Republican ethics.
We had already established that, before you attempted to move the bar.
Nice try though.
It’s ma’am, and if you want to be obtuse, go ahead. I care not. But I know YOU know that was at best an insult to you, not Palin.
I think it’s the Romney-care thing that will sink Romney during the primaries. If he survives the primaries and gets the nomination it won’t be an issue as Obama can’t really hit him with that unless he wants to go after his own ridiculous government intrusion into health care.
Perry will tout his tort reform measures that has resulted in influx of doctors into Texas but as in all states, Medicaid in Texas is problematic. They will site uninsured persons in Texas as a problem for Perry, but when you factor out those who can afford insurance but choose not to purchase it - and those who do not enroll their kids in the state program called CHIPS for whatever reason they choose - and the hoards of ILLEGALS who don’t have insurance but get free care anyway the numbers in Texas are not bad.
I think a bigger hurdle for Perry in the primaries against a Bachman or Palin for instance will be his signing of the bill that allows in-state tuition for ILLEGALS !! He may dance around that but that dog won’t hunt in a conservative state with conservative voters.
That's where your agreement falls apart.
Perry has accomplished more conservative legislation than the entire field combined.
Great post Mom.
Rick Perry and ACORN = A-OK.
Do you happen to know roughly how much Governor Perry spent vs his opponents in his more recent elections?
Well, not quite ..... If you graduated high school in another state...Oklahoma or Arkansas and then moved to Texas you do not qualify for in-state tuition for a period of time...However if you come from Tiajuana or Juarez, viola’ in-state tuition rates !! Rewarding illegal behavior rarely has positive consequences.
