Anyway, her death is a tragedy. It's a tragedy because she serves as a role model to a lot of people (not me) and she betrayed that responsibility. It's a tragedy because she had so much talent and she wasted it. It's a tragedy because people like you will use it in ammunition for whatever you want to do.

Yes...it's always easy to be smug and superior. Frankly, I wonder what percentage of the population really could 'handle,' much less survive, substantial fame and wealth in their early 20's. Certainly there are some with the strong enough character and moral virtues, but I suspect they constitute a very small minority. I'm a recovering alcoholic, and can honestly admit that had I obtained access to essentially unlimited wealth in my early 20's, there's a very good chance I wouldn't have made 30 either.

She really was very talented. Her voice was so soulful and effortless. She seemed like a very lovely person who had a good heart. Her parents seem like nice people. It’s sad that she couldn’t kick the drugs and booze. She tried. Went to rehab several times. Why must people be so hard on those who have such addictions? It’s really sad.
The knowledge that alcohol and drug abuse kills is all the ammunition we need........And in Amy's case, it proved our point.
