The Back to Black singer was found dead at her flat in north London on July 23.
The family statement said: ''Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death
''Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.

Thank you! Glad to see that these people are in a distinct minority FR. There's only two or maybe three of them, at best, in this thread.
Good performance but definitely not another Billie Holiday....
Are you saying that talent keeps one from being immoral? Because it doesn't. And talent doesn't excuse immorality either.
You jumped in and said Amy Winehouse is nothing but a drug addict. I said she was much more than that. You said she wasn't.
Revisionist posts are a liberal concept.
This is a CONSERVATIVE forum. This is the only place where morality is praised.

Let's get something clear, okay? Being addicted to drugs does NOT make you a whore. That sounds like something Islamists do. They stone the rape victims and then they sit around and call her a whore, when the victim in no way resembled a whore. Well, neither did Amy Winehouse.
And there was nothing revisionist about it, boss.
Well, you're absolutely right, but I seriously doubt that people who think she's a sinner are going to buy that argument.
It's definitely true, however. Alcoholism runs in families, for example. It doesn't run in mine. I could have 12 drinks every night this week and then not drink for a year. I have friends who don't drink at all because they just can't handle it.
By doing what? Becoming romantic tragic figures for addictions?
They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"
Yes, I've been black but when I come back you'll know, know, know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab, I won't go, go, go
Being addicted to drugs does NOT make you a whore.
You think she was moral? People addicted to drugs and alcohol do things they would not do sober and straight.
And there was nothing revisionist about it, boss.
There was.
Let’s make it interesting. What do you have to say to aruanan’s point that her addiction was not a choice? Chinese scientists have already discovered the biochemical pathways involved in addiction. If it wasn’t a conscious choice on her part, how can you call her immoral?
“My best friends daughter is addicted. Shes not sure to what but she shoots up. She stayed with her parents for 3 weeks and stole nearly everything in sight. They finally had the police remove her. When addicted the only thing that matters is feeding the addiction. There is NOTHING admirable in that. But some on this thread want to overlook the truth.”
I know many people with experiences like yours. You are blaming the daughter, for making problems for your best friend.
My brother divorced his first wife, over her alcoholism. At the first he was very bitter about alcoholism/addiction. But now years later he has a brother and a brother-in-law that have long term sobriety, and now he understands much better.
You may feel differently if/when you consider a person close to you that recovers, or has a family member that is successful with recovery.
But you may be disappointed that fire and brimstone stern condemnation is not part of most successful recovery scenarios.
People in recovery are all about helping other people, not condemning them.
And that is the truth.
Someone held her down and forced them into her until she was addicted?
This is a conservative forum. We believe in being responsible for our actions and their consequences. She CHOSE to take drugs and alcohol. HER CHOICE. Using drugs and alcohol lead to addiction. She was not a helpless victim. She made choices.
I'm blaming the daughter for becoming an addict. She CHOSE to use drugs. She KNOWS they are addicting. She USED them anyway.
Way too many posts are inappropriately praising or damning this woman. She was a talented singer who was an addict. Nothing more, nothing less. She had a great voice but made a bunch of horrible choices in life that led her to and kept her in a life of bad behavior. At a certain point, she became hooked and was unable to stop just like any other addict.
If you peal away the moralizing, you see the ugly story of what happens when you chose a life of drugs. No matter how talented you are, you end up in a tortured, miserable existence.
I just wonder why nobody seems to criticize the country music fans who revere Hank Williams, Sr? He and Amy both went down that same path.
A drug is a drug is a drug...and bodies don’t know legal from illegal!

You're still in the distinct minority on this thread, on this conservative forum. You represent an extreme, and a weird one at that.
So you ignore scientific evidence that addiction is not a choice? Seriously? Just because it contradicts your beliefs? Do you praise scientific evidence when it confirms your beliefs?
Face facts. Some people are simply more susceptible to addiction than others. Amy Winehouse's primary addiction was alcohol, from most accounts. Perhaps she died from alcohol withdrawal. If that's the case, she could have died while trying to beat her addiction, You condemn her for that.
What's your solution? Your post doesn't make it clear, so let me ask you this: do you deny that scientific evidence STRONGLY indicates that addiction is the result of biochemical wiring? If not, then what's your solution? People don't know in advance if they're going to turn out to be addicts. Some people have a couple of drinks and then turn into one. It is quite possible that this is what happens to Amy. You honestly are going to condemn her for that, if her biological wiring left her particularly susceptible to alcoholism?
There is strong scientific evidence that biochemical signaling pathways play a role in addiction. I agree with you that sometimes self-medication can help, at least temporarily. I know some medical marijuana patients that use it to cope with depression, for example. There’s also strong evidence linking biochemical pathways to compulsive eating — it may very well be an addiction. This type of information bothers some people.
How about Mickey Mantle (of whom I am also a big fan)? Amy came off as weird to a lot of people, so they find it easier to step on her neck after she's dead.
