Judging by her choice of dress, I’d opine (neutrally, of course), that you might come away with a bit more than you bargained for. Just sayin’. sd

“As I understand it, it doesnt matter who breaks the engagement, the man can still get the property back because they were given in anticipation of marriage.”
What recourse does she have for all the things she gave “in anticipation of marriage?”
Sorry.

I know you already know this (Because you’ve begun stalking her), but other reports say she is 30 years old.
But then... You always liked them that was rode hard and put away wet.

...she probably doesnt look half bad in the right light, and without such garish surroundings. Light aint going to help her fashion sense any.

The ring is in a sense, seals a verbal contract. I imagine that if the man is the one to break or violate the contract, the woman would get to keep the ring.

There was an article in our local paper about a 58 year old man who spent his mother’s life savings, when he was given power of attorney. The money was supposed to pay for her care and that of her other son who is disabled.
They said that the man spent the money on a house, landscaping, a three diamond ring, and braces for his wife, as well as private school tuition (I assume for the wife’s children).
The man was ordered to make restitution and spend 180 days in jail.
It was obvious from the ring and the braces that the guy also bought himself a young wife.

"I imagine that if the man is the one to break or violate the contract, the woman would get to keep the ring." If he had a valid reason to back out based on something she had done which was adverse to a future marriage, why should she get to keep anything he gave her? If he can't trust her now, why should he trust her in the future? What if the only reason she was with him was MONEY, and nothing more? What if she really had no emotional attachment to him?

"It was obvious from the ring and the braces that the guy also bought himself a young wife." He did indeed. However, if he was legally bound to use the money for the care of his mother and her disabled son, then he deserves to be jailed and made to pay restitution.
