NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - American actress Faye Dunaway plans to fight a lawsuit aiming to evict her from her rent-controlled apartment in New York, her attorney said.
Dunaway's landlord filed a complaint on August 2 seeking to evict her from the apartment on East 78th Street, alleging it is not her primary residence.
>
Dunaway first signed a lease for the one-bedroom apartment in 1994, and her rent is $1,048.72 a month. In court papers, Henry Moses of 7 of 8 Realty Co. claimed Dunaway maintains a home in West Hollywood, California, where she is registered to vote and has a driver's license.

Ping
It is time Dunaway gets weaned off the government tit.
It's time we dropped any pretense of rent control being maintained for the needy.
Nothing recent, but I wonder if she voted for Obozo in New York and California? any way to get her arrested if she did?

Wait. You can’t rent an apartment if its not your primary residence??
http://www.gouvenelstudio.com/images/deauville/cannes/photos2007/faye_dunaway.jpg ~ demonstrates that Faye overdid it with the face lifts/tucks/tugs/stuffs.
That was done decades ago.

Are you sure? I know many people that rent in Florida for the year so they can go down in the Summer or Winter (depending on age).
from reading the Wiki page I determine that you’d have to be insane to charge less than $2,000 a month in NYC. I wonder how many buildings saw massive rent price increases because of this law?
Apparently its only rent controlled if its a primary residence

“WE rob banks!”
Congressman Charlie Rangel has four rent-controlled apartments in New York. And he failed to disclose income that would have disqualified him had he reported it. Democrats. Go figure.
Apparently Rangel is above “der lawhr”!
There ya go. That's not the reality but it's the rule.
Well, we don't live there ALL the time...it's kind of a hideout.
