FReeper Fur-babies
Free Republic | 08/07/2011 | Bubby (He made me do it)

Posted on 08/07/2011 8:01:02 PM PDT by Outlaw Woman

There are many here on Free Republic that absolutely love our "Fru-babies". We post pics and follow each other, well I thought it would be terrific if we post the pictures of our 'babies'.

I don't know about you all but mine 'get me through' these nightmarish days. They love me no matter what. They are there and want to be with me no matter what. That includes the way I now look in the mornings! LOL!

Show YOUR babies here... :) Here are a few of mine both past and present...

When we lose our pack heaven forbid and our health still permits; we are going to adopt older dogs. They need someone to love them.

Do they travel with you?

No...the places I go are too hostile.

Some very dear friends took Finbar in when started my little adventures and Max is one of their kitties.

Finbar and Max are actually good buddies, but they also like to play.

Finbar was a five-month-old stray (that's the age the vet guessed) when he adopted me back in the spring of 2001. :)

Your fur-family is quite nice looking, BTW.

Heartbreaking.
One night I was driving home on the interstate and someone had thrown 3 or 4 puppies out. They were all dead but it was horrifying to see those little guys.

There are the souless that walk among us. You can tell a persons character by the way in which they treat animals or babies and the elderly.

Thank God for people such as yourself. Thanks so much for sharing your brood. I’ve so enjoyed seeing all the pics and hope this continues on for awhile.

You are so right. The cruelty is unbelievable. That is so sad. Same with you. I must apologize. I get carried away with my pack. My pack before them were all pound pups and they were the neatest bunch of dogs. I miss all my babies.

Thank you. They are (and were) all special. If I had more property my place would be a zoo! lol

Your baby is special too. It’s great to have friends that will look after ours when we have to travel.

He licks?? Smokey licks too! I thought it was very strange because no other cat I’ve had has done that...well not like her. She licks and keeps on licking...lol...just like a dog.

Carried away? lol...heck I’ll grab and hug other people’s pets...now THAT’s carried away! :)

Thanks. Yes I took all their pics with a dig camera.
They’re all still alive and well. They’re still all fairly young cats.

The Bengal has been with us about two years.
We found her in the barn one day, she was about half grown, dirty and half starved.
Have no idea where she came from. Tried to find her owner, for somebody lost some cash there.
She fought with the other cats at first- (Bengals are territorial, I’ve read) but ‘adopted’ the black and white, Niki, who was little at the time.

The Bengal is still skittish and won’t let anybody pick her up, but she loves to be petted and will crawl up into the lap of my father or grandfather while they’re watching TV at times.
I figure she must have suffered some trauma before she came to us. Anyway, she’s fat and sassy now and a pleasure to look at. She looks like something that just crawled out of the jungle.

Anyway, they finally fought it out and now have their pecking orders in place.
LOL Strangely enough, Niki, the black and white, rules the roost- even though she’s the smallest of the lot.

They’re all very sweet and lovable and bring a lot of joy into our lives.

.

The detail is truly excellent. FReeper Swampsniper would be impressed.

The Bengal was probably ‘dumped’. People are moronic. They get animals and then realize they are more than what they bargained for and then dump them. (sheer speculation on my part)I’m thinking that is probably what happened...maybe not but Bengals are not ordinary ‘house’ cats from what I’ve read.

My bubby, the 3 legger showed up in the neighborhood and was emaciated. I had seen him over at the neighbors house but they hated cats so I knew he wasn’t theirs. Anyway, I was stunned to see he was missing a leg. When I took him to the vet, he told me that the leg had been surgically removed and he was also neutered. Still a mystery how he wound up here. I looked for the owners for a few months; someone spent a great deal of money on him so, someone loved him at one time. I’m not sure what happened there but he’s home now.

Does your dog have a special story, Joe? Was he a rescue, a pup from a litter you bred????
