A ‘Super Congress’ is an unConstitutional committee of 12 which will ‘decide’ on the ‘best way forward’ to ‘reduce costs’ of government and ‘recommend revenue’ taxes...AKA, the Politburo, or, the Grand Soviet.

Absolutely. I don't know why the entire country isn't up in arms about this.

But I've seen virtually no comments on it anywhere but here.

It needs to be challenged on Constitutional grounds, for it is no more Constitutional than 0’care. A committee cannot write rules that then become un-voted on laws.

It will mean 12 + 0 runs the USA.

And until congress critters live under the same laws and programs we have to live under, they will remain your MASTER, not your elected representative.

"No. The president has no part in this"

Supposedly (the Constitution is un-used anymore, so all bets are off on that issue) the Outcome is to be voted upon by Congress, then on to the POTUS who can veto this just like any Legislation. That effectively gives him the deciding vote...likewise, since the Tax Cuts of 2001 are expiring soon, the Republicans will cave on the Tax issue, to save some lobbyists' asses and I fully expect either one or all of the Republican members to be RINO's who'll vote with the Democrats as a "compromise" (i.e., all the spending that the Democrats authorized in the past several years will be kept, except MINOR throw-away items. ALL Union paybacks will be retained, as will Obamacare, the CZARS, the packing of the NLRB, NEA, DHS, etc., etc. It's minor losses for the Dem's in this, and taxes WILL WIND UP BEING RAISED IN THE END, you can count on it.

And how long is America going to let this unconstitutional gang bang go unchallenged in the S.C.?

As long as the SC members can be bought off or have families. And as long as their clerks and other employees make sure no documents of merit get laid before them.

A committee cannot write rules that then become un-voted on laws.

As I understand it, the Superdude Senators write the bill and both House/Senate can only vote up or down; no amendments allowed. But I agree it will be 12 plus Hussein, an oligarchical tyranny.

However, he also cautioned that those who were critical of the super congress are not likely to be appointed.
///
you are literally correct.
however, i think Georgia Girl 2 understands the reality,
of the “UNWRITTEN” rule. in that, i believe she is correct.

“A spokesman for Senator McConnell reportedly said the Kentucky Republican would also not look at whether or not a Republican Senator voted for the bill as a criteria for an appointment on the joint committee. . . “”
///
3 different senate sources were reported as saying the above is not true. you can believe them, or you can believe McConnell’s “spokesman”.

i know i’d bet money, that a true budget cutter like DeMint won’t get near the committee.

i’d also bet money, that the results will be very bad for our country.
WE had the leverage with the debt ceiling, and caved.

in the supercommittee, THEY will have the leverage,
since a true conservative won’t want the military cut by .5 trillion, so will be forced to concede to the Dems,
to avoid it.

this was a BAD deal.

and me and many others, were correct about the rating downgrade, because we DIDN’T hold the line for even keeping the budget at 2008 levels, saving about 9 trillion.

and Rush was right about Boehner:

We’ve Been Played for Saps, Folks: Boehner Bill Will Become Reid Bill

...does anyone here think the people McConnell picks are going to achieve the REAL spending cuts we NEED,
to avoid the death spiral of Greece, Portugal, and Italy?

You are preaching to the choir. I think the Super Committee is totally unconstitutional. The Gun Owners of America are already filing a lawsuit and others will be forthcoming.

Instead of bugging me about a quote what you should be doing is screaming bloody murder that this unconstitutional super committee was ever able to be formed. We are now governed by an oligarchy.

No, you need to back up your assertions with facts.

There's enough disinformation flying around. If you have an accusation, make sure it's accurate.

It is too much like work and it may take time from soap operas and American Idol.Also, it is easier bt believe what the media tell me to and parrot the company line.

Not supplying good info is doing your homework?

Don't think so. It's the complete opposite.
