you are literally correct.
however, i think Georgia Girl 2 understands the reality,
of the “UNWRITTEN” rule. in that, i believe she is correct.
“A spokesman for Senator McConnell reportedly said the Kentucky Republican would also not look at whether or not a Republican Senator voted for the bill as a criteria for an appointment on the joint committee. . . ”
///
3 different senate sources were reported as saying the above is not true. you can believe them, or you can believe McConnell’s “spokesman”.
i know i’d bet money, that a true budget cutter like DeMint won’t get near the committee.
i’d also bet money, that the results will be very bad for our country.
WE had the leverage with the debt ceiling, and caved.
in the supercommittee, THEY will have the leverage,
since a true conservative won’t want the military cut by .5 trillion, so will be forced to concede to the Dems,
to avoid it.
this was a BAD deal.
and me and many others, were correct about the rating downgrade, because we DIDN’T hold the line for even keeping the budget at 2008 levels, saving about 9 trillion.
and Rush was right about Boehner:

...does anyone here think the people McConnell picks are going to achieve the REAL spending cuts we NEED,
to avoid the death spiral of Greece, Portugal, and Italy?
