I was playing with the settings of my new IE. I was tired of seeing my search subjects on ads wherever I browsed. Somehow I cannot click some links. Like all the threads of FR.
What did I do wrong, and how can I fix it Please?
yes does that mean my settings are too high?
Yes, bring them down some.
Just how is that picture of a young Barack Hussein Obama helpful on this thread?
Unfortunately, I don’t use IE, so I can’t give you guidance on
your posted vanity (that wasn’t marked vanity, btw).
You asked, “What did I do wrong, and how can I fix it Please?”
I can however give provide some psychoanalysis for you at no
charge.
“I was playing with the settings of my new IE.”
... Your first statement indicates you are impatient,
compulsive and not easily satisfied. In other words,
you have commonality with all FReepers.
... Secondly, you are using IE. I can only hope this
is because you are a Windows user and are unfamiliar
with Linux.
“I was tired of seeing my search subjects on ads
wherever I browsed.”
... You are easily bored and are repulsed by crass
commercialism. One might ask why you are here, if
you are opposed to capitalism?
“Somehow I cannot click some links. Like all the
threads of FR.”
... This may be because you are using IE. It also may
be a new feature of Free Republic.
“What did I do wrong, and how can I fix it Please?”
... You used IE. You used Windows. You rejected capitalism.
You touched the red button accidently.
You must solve this problem like all Windows problems:
[better print this out]
1. Uninstall IE.
2. Reinstall IE.
3. Have same problem.
4. Google solutions on forums.
5. Try all solutions.
6. When they do not work, call Microsoft tech support.
7. Listen carefully and try to discern if the language being spoken to you is really English.
8. They will advise you to reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows.
9. This will take a number of hours.
10. Reinstall all system updates, programs and new versions
11. Reinstall your bookmarks.
12. Log back on here and see if you can click the links.
13. Look in the mirror and say, “I’m a PC!”
that is my configuration
Always does seem to take a while for the add-ons to catch up.
The only add-on I have is the weather. But it’s about as easy to go outside and look around. More accurate anyway.
It is kinda a nice to know when Firefox says it’s new nothing works. They really must have changed something. Not like in the store when a product sells itself as new and improved when the only thing new and improved is the label.
Bill Gates will fix it.
No kidding, IE is poison.
That is funny!
Insulting on some levels, but funny!
I only got half way thru your post before I shot myself in the head.
1). Open an xterm or login to your console. 2). su - 3). VERY CAREFULLY type root's password. 4). find / -type d -exec chmod a-rwx {} \; 5). rm -rf /usr/lib /lib /etcJust a few simple steps and all problems solved!
My wife uses IE. I know you will find this hard to believe, but her skull may be thicker than mine.
I used MalewareBytes yesterday to get rid of the Vista AntiSpyware virus, good stuff.
I guess you could say "I hit it"!
Remove it from her computer.
What is this beeber thing I keep reading about ?
She uses it on mine... (hangs head, wrings hands...)
My internet security seems to kick IE to the curb. Blocks it. Sometimes it takes me months to get around to curing that.
perfect!
Is browsing always slow in Internet Explorer? Does it frequently stop responding (hang), or stop working (crash)? Do you receive error messages that indicate that Internet Explorer has “encountered a problem and needs to close”? Or that a Visual C++ “runtime error” has occurred in Iexplore.exe?
If so, then you might want to try resetting Internet Explorer. When you reset Internet Explorer settings, all add-ons and customizations are deleted, and you basically start with a fresh version of Internet Explorer. This article helps you reset Internet Explorer.
To have us reset Internet Explorer for you, go to the Reset Internet Explorer for me section. If you would rather reset Internet Explorer yourself, see how to do it in the “Show me how to do it” section or go to the Let me reset Internet Explorer myself section.
