I hope Emily (the storm) does a wild veer to DC and shakes up the entire place and makes the Executive and Congress-critters, along with the managers of “Emily’s List,” run screaming...but, alas, that will not happen.
Emily will wipe out a few trailer parks and beachfront homes in Florida and a few chabolas in PR and then dissipate, leaving the source of evil untouched.

The models keep shifting east...with an unusual, cryptic message in the 2PM advisory, “Emily back on track.” Anyway, the most western portion of Tampa Bay appears to be out of the “cone of uncertainty” at this point. Keep watching. It’s that time of year.

The current forecast path has Emily making a fairly direct hit on Hispanola - bad for Haiti, but that should put a major hurting on the circulation.
But it's still too early to tell.

Here’s my favorite tracking site.
http://www.stormpulse.com/
Even gives local weather and radar better than my local news station’s sites.

Big Daddy Goo-Goo is extending an invitation to Playboy Playmate Petra Verkaik to attend his personal hurricane party. Don’t worry, Petra, no matter where Emily goes, you will remain within Big Daddy’s Cone of Certainty.

We call this a “tormenta platanera”, roughly translated as “Banana storm”. That’s because only the fragile banana and plantain trees will go down with it.
SJU airport is still open.
No biggie so far.
You guys in FL get ready. DW is north of you near Brooksville.

The guys on the Weather Channel went to enormous lengths to express just how uncertain the path and strength of Emily are. I do not think they will get a handle on things until landfalls in the Greater Antilles are completed.

I see the models are shifting to the left a bit. This storm seems to act like it want’s to fool the forecasters.

Tons of rain today. Road visibility is less than 1/8 mile at times so many people are staying home. I’m at work.
Local government shut down which is always a good thing. Haven’t lost electricity yet which is a miracle.
