The former frontman of the Smiths, who is a staunch vegan and animal rights campaigner, drew the comparisons at a concert in Warsaw, Poland, on Sunday where he is currently in the middle of his summer tour.
Before singing Meat is Murder, the 52-year-old British musician told the crowd: We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead [sic].
"Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonalds and Kentucky Fried s--- every day.
Earlier this year the singer also said killing a stag is the same as killing a child.

He’s asking Poles to give up meat? Good luck with that...
That’s fantastic. Loved it.
” Loved the music back then, but these guys were a bunch of Leftist dopes. Eurotrash “
I’d love to see your long list of bands who weren’t . : )
It would be a pretty long list. The a lot were American bands, not European.
You said :
” rap, industrial, older grunge and techno, classic rock “
Rap ??? Best industrial music came from Europe . Techno , too . Grunge ? You mean like Nirvana ? Classic Rock consists of myriad sub genres . I daresay the majority of musicians who fit into this “ genre “ are lefties , too .
You must be a little high right now. I would never, and have never said I liked Rap music. I couldn't even find any other posters on the thread that did. That quote you have is something I didn't write.
I do have most of the stuff the Beastie Boys put out, but I generally don't count that as Rap.
You can say that again!
Not high . There are two threads re : Morrissey and I confused you with a guy on the other thread . Sumimasen .
This freak show known as “Morrissey” is merely expressing the reality of much fanatical vegetarian “thought” (sic) — if you really believe the rhetoric that gets spewed continually then you believe that humans are no more precious than chickens (maybe less so according to a lot of these freaks).
Not saying there can’t be a more “moderate” vegetarian who is not a fanatic, just that a lot of the “animal rights” rhetoric is just this extreme in its background and implications.
I have no use for this disgusting clown, but he does provide the useful service of showing what the useless idiots really do believe.
also not saying there are not significant variations among different “animal rights” views, simply that there is a lot of extreme rhetoric which does not receive critical analysis from people who think they are so so smart (usually precious adolescents) in taking up this stuff
