LONDON (AP) Amy Winehouse, the beehived soul-jazz diva whose self-destructive habits overshadowed a distinctive musical talent, was found dead Saturday in her London home, police said. She was 27.
Winehouse shot to fame with the album "Back to Black," whose blend of jazz, soul, rock and classic pop was a global hit. It won five Grammys and made Winehouse with her black beehive hairdo and old-fashioned sailor tattoos one of music's most recognizable stars.

Not a Streisand talent for sure....just more flamboyancy and loud music.

Stupid woman. Talented singer with so many chances to get herself straightened out and she blew it.
When something like this happens, it’s terrible for family and friends. Those are the people I feel for right now. She was too selfish to think about them and the grief she would cause.

Did you time that?

OMG. As someone pointed out, not a surprise. This is a tragedy. Supertalented iconoclastic straight-talker with exceptional musical standards.
RIP, poor tragic soul.

Can’t say I’m surprised. I never liked her, but hubby thought she was talented.
AFA, dead rock stars I’m more into those who died at 21-22 (Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran).

I realize she isn't a musician, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lindsay Lohan made this list.
She has major issues.

She was too selfish to think about them and the grief she would cause.Yes. And if you were God you could send her to hell for disappointing them. But if this comment is any indication, you don't pass the essay test for God-ness.
When will I stop being surprised at the sheer callousness and stupidity of people?

that and then some. She destroyed herself in front of the whole world. Sad when you think about it.

...except for the winner of the dead pool
A radio show I listen to has a death pool. Takes calls for an hour to fill it ~< 60 picks.
The last pool ended with Peter Falk, and I think Winehouse was listed as #39 in the current one.
Pity she couldn't shake that monkey off her back. I liked a lot of what I heard of her work.

If it wasn’t for my wife’s People magazines, I wouldn’t have a clue who this woman was.
If she was talented, sad loss. I don’t think I have ever her one of her songs.

The question is what Amy Winehouse is going to do next.I remember reading that just over a month ago and thinking she only had two options sobriety or death. Sadly it was not the former.
