LONDON (AP) Amy Winehouse, the beehived soul-jazz diva whose self-destructive habits overshadowed a distinctive musical talent, was found dead Saturday in her London home, police said. She was 27.
Winehouse shot to fame with the album "Back to Black," whose blend of jazz, soul, rock and classic pop was a global hit. It won five Grammys and made Winehouse with her black beehive hairdo and old-fashioned sailor tattoos one of music's most recognizable stars.

Possible, and she was into a lot of pharmaceuticals, legal and otherwise.

Another deeply tortured soul who made it big and then imploded.

Too much crack and meth. Perhaps someone else can learn from her mistakes.

I am so, so sorry.
Amy was a riveting, outstanding, challenging, and gifted performer.
I am glad I discovered her music while she was still alive; I had so hoped she would turn things around.
I will miss her terribly.
RIP, my dear Amy, RIP.

Truth. Seeing same thing in my family as well. As Mr. Mackey says “Drugs are bad -— Mmmkay?” but some people can’t accept this or comprehend it.

So sad.
She had a very supportive family — her parents really tried to help her out.
May she Rest In Peace.

From Fox News
Born in 1983 to taxi driver Mitch Winehouse and his pharmacist wife Janis, Winehouse grew up in the north London suburbs, and was set on a showbiz career from an early age. When she was 10, she and a friend formed a rap group, Sweet ‘n’ Sour — Winehouse was Sour — that she later described as “the little white Jewish Salt ‘n’ Pepa.”

My theory is that it is the point where their aging body has gotten just old enough that the abuse is more than it could take when it was just a little bit younger...So right. The hard drugs destroy organs and one more time is just one more time than the body can take.
I know she will be mocked by most here, but some people can't escape the grip of addiction. Nothing to gloat about.
RIP Amy (and my son as well).
