Rest in peace Amy Winehouse. A tragically short life for a very good R&B singer.
She wanted the drugs and alcohol more than she wanted her life. Not an unexpected outcome but still sad.
Well put.
Unlike Morrison and Joplin, Amy could sing. Poor gal.
I always thought the F-me pumps video was very funny.
Prayers for her....yet another member of the rock star, Dead at 27 club..

Jim Morrison

Many musicians were heavily into drugs in the late 60’s and 70’s. The ones who did not quit drugs are all dead.
I've heard the name now and then, but that's about it...
YouTube has muted all her videos appareantly. But if the sound ever comes back give this a listen:

Why do music stars have the desire to use drugs? Puzzle it just seems widespread.
I’m SHOCKED!!!!
90 some children, at last report, are dead in Norway. More compelling news.
So for Amy Winehouse, to quote Curly Bill, "Well... Bye!"
There are too many, now. I'm unable, anymore, to bleed for the least sparrow that falls.
This will be the mantra.
Meh. Still; cashing out at 27 is too early.
Sorry, but I don’t really feel anything for this girl. I’ll only say I hope she finds a measure of peace in death. I honestly don’t have much sympathy for someone who had everything and pissed it away, whose early death people have been predicting for years, not when dozens of innocent children and adults are lying dead in Norway.
I watched the first sixty seconds of the video. Didn’t understand it. It’s as though she’s from another planet and I imagine that’s because I was born in 1936 and there was real music filling the air.
I think it’s sad that our culture honors and enables sick people such as her. Yes she had talent, but she was also mentally unbalanced. Due to her talent, she and her hangers-on never saw that her obvious drug problems could lead her to an early grave. So she never got the help she needed, and the result is early death. It’s sad but unfortunately, not unpredictable or unexpected.
Yep. Had it all, now deader’n a debt deal...
RIP Amy.
