Not much different than serial killers...love the joy of killing something, especially harmless pets.

Yay, a thread we can be like Daily Kos on!
“f the p!” “f the p!”

But yeah there’s no doubt that pet killings by police need to be taken a lot more seriously than simple property damage. These are members of people’s family. There should be an external investigation in these cases.
But I’ll say that we only have 1 side of the story here.

A chained dog... six times!
Such a macho powerful cop, that is!
Used to be you could go years and years without reading a story like this. These days there are too many to count.

Maybe that triggerhappy cop would enjoy the rush of engaging a target that shot back?

They just followed their own internal policies and procedures. No fault found. The dog would have attacked if it was not chained up. The cop was taking no chance that the dog would unhook itself and attack. Nothing to see, move along.

Disgusting.
I'll say it again; The next time I hear of a cop being shot in the line of duty, I'm going to withhold my sympathies until I hear the details of the shooting. My default support for cops is OVER.

Maybe someone could come up with a T-shirt that says “I don’t own a dog because the cops would shoot it if I did”.

Let me start by stating that in my business I worked with many police and sheriff’s departments in two states.
Before leaving the USSA, I saw a distinct pattern of cops
morphing from “good old boys/girls”, to jack booted thugs.
This episode is quite similar to the thug cop that blew away the poor deaf man.

What can you really say about this, neighbors yard, chained, 5 shots and in front of the owner. This is just plain wrong, but in a world where humans butcher each other for much less cause, it is not surprising. I don’t care what the officer’s reasoning was it shouldn’t of happened.
To: Immerito
So a dog runs and jumps on you and attacks you while you are picnicking outdoors. You pick up a steak knife and stab it to death. Then you find out it was a police Dog.
Murder one.
How is that for hypocritical.
If they can kill yours then you should be able kill theirs when you feel threatened.
