The 2012 card is played
Politico 44 via Drudge ^ | 7/15/11 | By GLENN THRUSH

Until now, President Obama has been one of the few Washington players who has resisted the temptation to explicitly link the debt talks to 2012 (compared with, say, Mitch McConnell, who has said his party will be destroyed if the debt ceiling collapses).

But that abruptly changed Friday, when Obama strode sternly into the White House and broke his own tacit rule of never mixing the nation’s business with his own political strategy. “Whoever the Republican nominee is,” he declared, “ we’re going to have a big serious debate about what we believe is the right way to guide American forward and to win the future.”

Yes Barry, we should have nice long debate about our country’s financial well being. Assuming you’re not impeached or resign in shame before then...

Freak.

AP

July 15, 2011 (CHICAGO) — A liberal group upset over potential cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security is threatening to pull their support from President Barack Obama.

The group, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, says it will deliver 200,000 signatures to Obama’s campaign headquarters in Chicago on Friday. They say they’re from people who are refusing to donate or volunteer for his re-election campaign if Obama cuts the entitlement programs.

Lordy, Lordy. No one has told O'Boomababa that teleprompters are gonna be banned in the debates.

There are a few things about this that the GOP needs to be wary about...not that I really care about them any more...they are selling us out just as much as the dims.

1) Freepers need to understand that the Dept ceiling must be raised. Yeah...the majority of the American public THINKS they don't want it raised...and Freepers don't think they want it raised...and I wish it didn't have to be raised...but guess what...you cannot stop over $100 Billion in gov't spending/month and not have absolute panic in the markets (which means your 401K evaporats more than it already has)...spikes in inflation...massive layoffs...and untold pain.

2) Freepers need to also understand that the majority of the American public will blame Obama and the GOP equally...at first. But as the MEDIA spins the pain...the stories of this cop in town X whose job was paid for by this gov't stimulus...who is now laid off...this hospital worker...this construction worker...backdropped against this oil company executive who is raking in the profits because commodities will spike...well you get the picture.

So...chose your poison. I think there are two reasons most Freepers want NO debt increase. 1) They are too ignorant to understand the consequences or 2) They understand...and they want collapse...and a reset.

I am not sure we can reset. We are a nation of takers...and those who think America is with you regarding the debt ceiling will see we are a nation of takers when we refuse to raise it.

I saw them talking about gridlock in Washington this morning...and how people are sick of it. I could not DISAGREE more. There is not gridlock in Washington. There is GRIDLOCK in the country. You have 70 members of a commie caucus plus others that are equally socialist. They represent a constituency who will throw them out if they vote for a cut in the spending. Then you have conservative members...who will get thrown out if they vote for tax hikes.

Our nation is divided. 40% are commies (or lean that way but don't know it)...40% are constitutionalists...and 20% float to the people who put together good ads.
