Nebraska girl born with no arms and legs has blamed unfair scoring after she failed to make her school's cheerleading squad three years in a row.
Julia Sullivan, 16, has complained to the school board after she said she was given 'no accommodation for her disability' during try-outs.
The wheelchair user did not make the team after she received a low score in the jumps/kicks category of the trials.
Miss Sullivan got her highest marks in the communication skills and enthusiasm/spirit categories.
The Aurora High School student, who said that she likes to dance, said: 'I just think it would be fun.'

With all due respect to the kid, cheer-leading, swimming team, tennis team and looking to join the volleyball team are not going to be in the cards.
She may invent something to defy gravity in ten years, you never know.
I wish her the best, but there is no problems from the school side.

Julia Sullivan, 16, has complained to the school board after she said she was given 'no accommodation for her disability' during try-outs. I think she needs to make up her mind. Does she wanted to be treated as an equal or does she want deferential treatment?

she received a low score in the jumps/kicks category of the trials. There must be racism involved.

The wheelchair user did not make the team after she received a low score in the jumps/kicks category of the trials. She should hire some Mexicans to rig up her wheelchair with some hydraulics.

It’s baseball season. Maybe they could use a back-up homeplate.

This is nothing more than “affirmative action.”
I got cut from the basketball team AND the track team. I was terrible at both, though I was determined.
The coaches did me a favor.
It allowed me to find my strengths, REAL strengths, in other areas.

She took dance lessons for ten years, sitting on the floor with shoes placed on her arms so that she could tap rhythms on the floor.

"Miss Sullivan, who has no legs and arms that stop short of her elbows, has already overcome her disability to become a member of the school's marching band".
*******************************************
Hmm, I would say that she did not overcome her disability, they just accommodated it. I guess she expects the cheerleaders to do the same thing.

I’d like to be in the NBA and make millions per year. I’m only 4’ 3”, can’t jump, hate basketball and generally am uncoordinated. Should I sue? By the way I am an ancephalic quadrapelegic.
