Tape may be released. Judge Perry will make this call.
Pass the pitchfork, please. :-)
In the video supplied by the link, didn’t she say Caylee had drowned in the pool?? Cindy appears to really be grieving and I got the impression everything was a shock. As for as her father goes, it appears he might have known something. Just guessing on that one. I keep hearing that the father was a retired cop and he had smelled something before. Perhaps this family has always been in denial about Casey. Letting their precious little girl get away with everything. Believing anything she said. You know you don’t become that kind of a liar over night. She’s been lying for a long time.
Generally juror rights tend to lend themselves to acquittal but I personally think think a jury that can decide what evidence is admissible can just as easily find the new evidence to convict.
Jury nullification and knowledge of their rights got a bad name during some of the civil rights related murder trials of the 60s. Racist juries simply refused to convict guilty men. It ain’t pretty but it was within their rights which is why the feds found other means of getting convictions. (charged them under federal statutes and moved them to jurisdictions where convictions were more likely)
Thanks for the info, guys. IF there was video of her reaction when other bones were found (showing no emotion) and it was played back-to-back with the video of when they actually DID find the body....that would provide a powerful/emotional testimony to the jury from the defendant herself. The defense could try to explain the difference (and there could be legitimate reasons for the difference), but the damage would be done in the jury’s opinion of the defendant.
Releasing the video alone to the public will likely not damage Casey. Most people could relate to a mother being overly distraught that her dead baby was found.
What was the reason the judge would not allow this video (if anybody knows)?
In my experience, a random selection of 12 folks will harvest at least 8 morons (including six or so liberals). In the one criminal trial I served as a juror, the judge, prosecutor, and defense talked to us like we were idiots, completely different from tv. I expect that was out of necessity through years of dealing with juries. And we held all the power. I think jurors should have to demonstrate some basic capability to serve, as naturalized citizens must pass a test in order to vote. If capable, then they should be paid more for their time.
I am sure that the jail had tapes of those times when Casey reacted with boredom. Ho Hum attitude.
Put those tapes up against the one where the body was really found and the difference would be incredible.
In this trial there is so much evidence of truth kept out.
Instead the jury is fed a pile of bologna from Baez making George the culprit.
And he did that without providing any evidence to back it up.
There have been too many people trying to make this case more difficult than the actual facts indicate. I don’t think the parents were involved in this at all. They may have lied for her at trial, but that was about it.
As to those that think they knew early on that Caylee was dead, they are right, but it was one of those things that was never shared between any of them. They knew in their hearts what Casey had done. They probably hoped they were wrong.
Then he let the defense say the kid may have drowned...when there was absolutely no eveidence.
Sorry...I think this was rigged. All it took was 11 airheads and one plant.
The verdict was incomprehensible.
I don’t think George had anything to do with anything whatsoever. Cindy and him were on thin ice because he had a gambling problem previously and they had separated for a period of time. George loved Caylee and it shows quite a bit in all the video and pictures. I think he was run roughshod over by Cindy and eventually Casey too. He was the only one on to Casey lies as evidenced by him finding out she was not working at Sports Authority I believe. Interestingly, he was told to butt out and don’t pry by Cindy and he backed off. Cindy rules that house, but eventually after the large fight the night of the 15th as told by the Great Grandmother, Casey took control and exacted revenge against Cindy in a power play by destroying the only thing important to her. This was all over some stolen checks from the Grandmother. George was a non-entity in the home. He was for “keeping appearances”. mow the lawn, try to find work, wash the cars, etc etc. Just my humble opinion on everything. I think Cindy worked with Baez to craft this defense and George was a stupid pawn. I always hoped he could break free from her control but he didn’t and hasn’t.
I can well imagine that this jury would still have reached the same verdict. They were not exceptional in the critical thinking area...
GMTA...I was just thinking about that. I knew from the start this woman was lying. What person with any love at all for their child would never call police and tell them their child was missing. I know everyone says she waited 31 days, but, it was her mother that called, not Casey and it remains to be seen, if she ever would have called.
Thanks for adding the last line.
You are right and you put the finisher on it.
This evidence would have been ignored by this jury. LOL
She did not react that way when told there were bones found in the river and bones found in Blanchard Park.
IN ADDITION: In between fits of hyperventilation and rashes she paused long enough to talk football. Casey brought up the National Championship.
I think it shows how she became completely unglued when she found out remains were found where she dumped Caylee.
Word of previous findings of remains in other locations left her cool as a cucumber.
That would have been interesting. But Cindy did call the police, not Casey, very true. I wonder what she would have done if Caylee’s birthday came along and no Caylee to be found?
Maybe Casey would have concocted leaving the state and taking Caylee with her to visit someone.
One thing we can be sure of is that it would have been another doozy of a lie.
This Casey is so guilty it makes a person sick to contemplate it.
The defense is going to squire her off for a while to make sure that she has a story to tell on the first interview that jives.
They can’t have another trial, but they will want to make sure she doesn’t make them look too bad.
I agree. ALL accusations against him came from Casey, a well known serial liar.
In my opinion, her lies put the father on trial instead of her! The jury convicted him.
They did not know it was Caylee yet they told her a body had been found and where. The tears were because she knew where she left the body and they were for her not her child. When she had been told of other remains she did nt have the same reaction.
You are spot on. I have served twice (not heavy stuff, thankfully) and on both occasions was stunned by the ignorance of some of the other folks on the jury. There truly is no such thing as a “jury of your peers”.
yeah, the gig was up....she thought she was going down...foolish girl....she still had gullible jurors to rely on.
I can’t imagine doing what Casey did. The whole partying thing with not even a bit of sadness. I’d be a basket case. Casey thinks she’s gotten off scott free, but, I have news for her, this will haunt her where ever she goes for the rest of her life. I listened to juror #11 last night on Greta. His explanations that I heard sounded stupid and lame. I couldn’t watch Casey’s lawyer, I’ve had enough of those two irritating idiots.
Why would George have to look for work? Wasn’t he a policeman? Couldn’t he return to that line of work?
Personally, if I were Lee Anthony...I would have plastic surgery, change my name and leave anything and everything connected to this crowd and find some island somewhere where I could live out the rest of my life in peace and harmony within my own soul. I think HE was a victim as well as Caylee. I think his family treated him like dirt and the pain he experienced on the witness stand was real and my heart broke for him. If he is smart...he will put as much distance between himself and this crowd as he possibly can. God bless him and God bless Caylee.
