Thanks for the info, guys. IF there was video of her reaction when other bones were found (showing no emotion) and it was played back-to-back with the video of when they actually DID find the body....that would provide a powerful/emotional testimony to the jury from the defendant herself. The defense could try to explain the difference (and there could be legitimate reasons for the difference), but the damage would be done in the jury’s opinion of the defendant.

Releasing the video alone to the public will likely not damage Casey. Most people could relate to a mother being overly distraught that her dead baby was found.

What was the reason the judge would not allow this video (if anybody knows)?

Judge felt the tape was inflammatory and that, if publicly released, it would damage her right to receive a fair trial.

Can a lawyer explain why the Judge could not rule the tape be sealed prior to trial, put a gag order on the lawyers, and admit it AT trial? The jury was sequestered, after all. I don't get it.
