MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minneapolis mother is looking for the public’s help in finding a mob of teenage girls that she says assaulted her family.
The attack happened Thursday afternoon inside Folwell Park on Minneapolis’ north side. (more in article, found on Drudge)

I wonder if Harper Lee ever moved out of her “racist” South.
We saw a few of those in looking, passed. A sure sign is hard-sell tactics with hidden fees and, yes, little kids with black belts. We got lucky and found an older Korean gentleman in a low-rent strip mall who taught because he wanted to, in an environment that can best be described as a big family. There wasn't one trophy in the place since he didn't teach for competition, and he didn't even have his own extensive trophies (apparently at one time he was a Korean Army TKD champion). He taught for discipline, fitness and self defense. He'd even break out the rubber knife quite often for specific defense techniques.
I know most people aren't likely to get that lucky. My wife just saw the tiny place driving by one day and walked in. He didn't advertise.
If I'm a 12 year-old girl, I fight for my life, doing as much damage as quickly as possible. Taking down the leader of the group in a dramatic fashion is the best bet. Your cases are irrelevant, since they are not the subject of this thread, or the wider subject of these roving groups of blacks girls who make a sport out of beating up smaller white girls.

That’s generally good for mobs, but this is a different situation. They have a small pack with a leader, they have targeted you, stalked you. They have decided in advance that you will be beaten. They walk up, make some claim that provides the facade of them being the victim (you eyein’ me girl?) and commence the beating. The deer can’t negotiate with the wolves intent on eating it. But if the deer turns into a bear and kills the alpha male, it is likely the wolves will scatter. That is the applicable pack dynamics.
I was surrounded by a Mexican gang once and got away without a bad word spoken much in the way you spoke about. But they were just scoping me out, they hadn’t decided what to do with the gringo initially. It’s not the same situation, not the same group dynamics.
It is very important to distinguish between fiction and reality, for example the scene in Falling Down, where the white America office worker man takes on two Mexican gang members—that scene is fiction. Or the scenes in any action movie, You must wholly discount it, all the dynamics, tactics and reactions in it. Reacting to gangs according to the plots of great fiction writers is not reality-based.
YouTube is a great new resource for learning about the reality of mobs and gangs at the point where risk and danger becomes violence and assault. There are few resources for learning about the reality of mobs and gangs prior to that point. That is because as you found with the experience you had, no harm, no foul. No violence actualizes, so the dynamics and events pass by unspoken of, or forgotten.
Like Cesar Milan found, and became (an awesome) expert by doing, is that only by going in harm’s way can one observe such behavior and test theories of dealing with these mobs.
In our time, now, that is research that NEEDS to be done, imo. How to go about it? THAT’s another story entirely.
When I’ve had the opportunity to wade into such situations, I’m not taking notes, although one’s senses are amped-up, ones memory-recording is diminished in many ways, one becomes focused on a few key things of the time, mainly breaking the “point” of violence and dampering or dispersing the mob. What I am not is a scientific observer. But, as I suggested, I think we NEED scientific observations of mob formations, and dynamics.
With those we can better give solid core advice as to how stop mobs without excessive counter violence, even turning the situation into a win-win. The first win being defusing the mob of the moment, and the second win by helping to train the actors—the feral kids in a modern mob—to become more responsible and less likely to join into or grow violent, feral mobs.
Still, we are not talking about this specific problem. You will not get to talk because the beating will commence as soon as they've said their introductory phrase.
But, as I suggested, I think we NEED scientific observations of mob formations, and dynamics.
So far from what I've heard, a heat-packin' momma near her kid dissolves the pack very quickly, words don't. Note pack, not mob. They hunt in the malls, fix their targets and attack. They are purposely going after what they consider to be easy prey. This isn't gangs showing superiority or protecting turf or making a show of force, or even mindless spot mobs. It is a blood sport for the sheer enjoyment of beating up little defenseless white girls.

Funny how images of this country are so far off base. I know I have images of the East Coast population is a caricature of the real people.
We actually do have Amish in Minnesota (although they are certainly not urban).
And when referring the Indians in Minnesota, the Blackfoot nation does not come to mind - they are much further west, like in Montana! Our Indians are Ojibway (or sometimes called Chippewa). They are hunter/gatherers.

I’m a Minnesotan, and I laugh at the silly adage of “Minnesota Nice”.
The people in my state are not any different than other Midwesterners. We’ve got really good folks and some really bad folks. Out in the rural areas most are very nice people, so how is that different from other states? I suspect urban areas in any state will have the lion’s share of the rotten eggs.
Lugging around heavy objects like scrap metal something you would never see a self respecting inner city kid do. Try hiring one to see if he/she would lug around a heavy object and watch the decibels skyrocket.
That’s just it. Fred rarely if ever did any of the lugging. Lamont did most of the work. Most of the episodes involved them arguing over this fact.
Stay away from WTF like it has flesh eating bacteria. Go with a good ITF TKD school if possible, and if the school only teaches WTF, make sure the teacher looks like he’s actually seen the streets. You also have to make sure the teacher tries to keep the students in shape or else the students wouldn’t have the stamina to last in a fight. Living in the southside of town, I’ve learned a few things they would never teach me in a dojang though. For one, you might just have to ditch the fancy kicking and stick with the thrusting, piercing and front kicks and learn some boxing techniques. Another thing is to carry a blinding weapon, so in case the perp has a gun, you can flash the blinding weapon (Like a magnesium flash/magnesium light or pepper spray) in his/her eyes and take away the advantage of a gun. After all, you have to see where you’re shooting before you shoot the gun. Anyway, I would start teaching my own class but with my learning disability, I think I probably make for a better student than teacher. And besides, the one student I did teach has done very well for herself. Some guy mugged her last night and she dispatched the guy in the gutter.
My mistake. It’s been years since I’ve watched reruns of Sanford and Son.. However, Lamont is something you never see in the inner city these days.
That's for sure. By all reports he's an even better guy in real life.
At least 20 minutes of exercise before class, made to look like a fun game. He'd let me join and I'd be sweating by the end. The kids loved him. I can't remember who he was associated with, since that he was a great teacher was far more important.
