Put me down as one that knows your posting history out on the internet, you have a unique internet name, and widely scattered postings.
Just out of curiosity, what did I say on this thread (OP or subsequently) that is objectionable? Zottable? Against any rules?
Humor just isn’t what it was in the old days either, I guess...
Oh, thanks for reminding me for why I thought you are a /VI.
As I get older my memory fails me. I should have never even said word one to you. Well, I am done now.
You are a stalker and a liar. How I could forget that is amazing to me.

Bachmann appears to be a solid conservative. She talks the talk, votes conservative, stands up to the media, and is generally adored by Tea Partiers. Ideologically speaking, she’s the cat’s meow. Objectively speaking, she’s never ran a national campaign before and has very little if any executive experience.
I believe only one other congressperson has ever been elected president. Her odds of winning are slim. I’d prefer to see her operate as a senator or governor first. Historically speaking, that would improve her viability as a presidential candidate. However, I’d vote for her in a heartbeat over President Obama.
Speaking of Obama, he’s got leadership issues, but ideology remains his biggest problem. When you see government as the solution for every ill and you’re the chief executive of said government, then you better be pretty competent at holding it all together (conservatives, of course, believe big government is beyond anyone’s capability to govern).
A truly conservative president, on the other hand, would look for ways to reduce the executive branch and avoid micromanaging the economy. A liberal president must act like an emperor, having ultimate authority and responsibility for virtually everything that goes on. A conservative president has clearly defined and limited powers and let’s We the People run our own affairs.
One last note...IBTZ?
If it wasn’t for making personal insults your posting history would be about a third of what it is.
Damn! You're even wrong about that, LOL.
FWIW, I appreciate your desire, during this primary season, to see threads that thoughtfully debate the pros and cons of various candidates without spammers who shove more than a full screen shot of links, pictures and photos pro or con Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Rick Perry or the Mormon church that stray not one pixel from the very same spam post they put on every thread regarding said issue or candidate.
If only they understood that their spam posts only serve to alienate uncommitted conservatives who would rather think for themselves than be spammed.
Yes, we know. YOUR candidate is pure as new-fallen snow and all the others are RINOs, cowards and sell-outs. I’d rather you stick to the issues, come up with some relevant talking points and explain why YOU support your candidate without trying to smear all the other candidates - that’s how DEMOCRATS behave and we ought to be better than that.
The objective is to beat Obama and I haven’t found a GOP candidate yet that would.be worse than Obama. The candidate we are trashing today may be the one you’ll get banned for not supporting next year when they are the official nominee.
So hold the bile against fellow Republicans. Let’s not give the Dems any talking points about our guys they could turn into attack ads. Discuss their pros and cons rationally and respectfully and maybe more people will do the same with YOUR candidate.
I’m not sure objectivity is my goal here but I’d really love to see less spam and more thoughtful discussion. Thank you.
Oh, this is a laugher, you think you are objective?
Grand Funk Railroad. One of my faves, from back in the way back day. Got 'em added to my evening listening list. Thanks!
>>Grand Funk Railroad.<<
I wish I could have found the live version in a quick YT search. GFR was always controversial and the critics hated them, despite the fact they actually led the charts for quite a few years.
Of course, they started downhill when they picked up Craig and went in a pop direction. But I was listening to some of their early stuff and the grit is palpable. They put the Rock in Rock’nRoll.
As with so many things, these things are in the eye (ear) of the beholder (except for me, of course — my opinions, when disagreed with by some people, are just “wrong.”)
I seem to recall a while ago when there was a “greatest guitarist” list somewhere — I knew it couldn’t be any good because Mark Farner wasn’t on it (nor, IIRC, was Robin Trower ;) )
Thanks, FRiend. :)
No Robin Trower????
I demand a recount! LOL
Seriously, I can't believe that Robin would be left off a list of greatest guitarists. He may not be the most famous guitarist out there, but along with Mr. Hendrix, he pretty much wrote the book on searing, blues-based, hard rock guitar.
The fact that Perry endorsed Giuliani in the last election and campaigned hard on his behalf tells me a lot about Perry's Conservative core. It's about as non-existant as Mitt Romney's.
As governor in a relatively conservative state, Perry could act like a conservative, since that's what they people there wanted. As President, I think he'd be a whichever-way-the-wind-blows politician.
>> “ As President, I think he’d be a whichever-way-the-wind-blows politician. “ <<
Please note that I said, “if he runs well”. Thankfully the winds you mention are blowing conservative. You’re also right that Texas holds only conservatives in office right now, and also enjoys a majority conservative legislature who keeps Perry on the reservation. If we can take the House and the Senate in Washington, Perry will be fine.
