Four dogs belonging to Arizona Cardinals linebacker Joey Porter reportedly killed a dog belonging to one of his neighbor's ... this according to a local report.
The incident went down on July 2, says the Bakersfield Californian, and a local animal control spokesperson told the paper Porter was cited for not having the dogs on a leash.
The spokesperson said the dogs appeared to be half mastiff, half pit bull -- and that Porter appeared upset about what happened and apologized to the neighbor.
In 2006, Porter's dogs (though unclear if it's the same ones) reportedly got loose from his home in Pennsylvania and killed a miniature horse on a nearby farm.

Ugh. The fact they killed a mini horse too makes it extra sad to me for some reason.

Any dogs running loose and causing trouble on my farm got smoked.

Twice his dogs kill an innocent animal? That tells me he is NOT a responsible animal owner.
They should be removed from his care and placed with responsible animal owners.

Or maybe put down.

The problem is Porter, plain and simple. He needs to be severely punished for his irresponsible actions. I've dealt with people like Porter many times concerning dogs. They are as stupid and irresponsible as the day is long. I guarantee that these dogs are also a threat to people and as such they should be removed from Porter's care.
Knowing a little bit about the situation, I can guarantee that this was an accident waiting to happen.

Why should they be put down because of an irresponsible owner? It’s not them.....it’s the owner.
What responsible dog owner allows their dogs to roam free?

Obviously both are the problem. Last I checked though, putting down a pi$$ poor animal owner is not a legal option.
BTW dogs with a history of unprovoked viciousness are NOT going to be rehabilitated.

Joey Porter needs to be on a leash.

In their small minds, it’s a status symbol. It reminds me of Ernest T. Bass and his gold tooth.
