A Mexican national was executed Thursday for the rape-slaying of a teenager after the U.S. Supreme Court turned down a White House-supported appeal to spare him in a death penalty case where Texas justice triumphed over international treaty concerns. Humberto Leal, 38, received lethal injection for the 1994 murder of Adria Sauceda. She was fatally bludgeoned with a piece of asphalt. Leal was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. EDT (2221 GMT).

I'm loving the comments to obozo....you all have the fire in the belly and the anger to right what is wrong with this country and the people responsible for same.

Get good and angry, everybody, and then band together and remove this socialist/communist/fascist/muslim sympathyzer from OUR White House...have courage and let our ForeFathers be our guide...they fought and died for less.

I think that there is great relief and satisfaction in the fact that justice triumphed for a change. Texas spoke Truth to Power, and former Power, in a strong message sent to the Failure and Bush 43.

That story is about hypocrites but certainly not the way you are using it.

To begin with Jewish law stated that the act had to be witnessed. There were no witnesses.

Secondly The man was to be brought also. He wasn't.

This was a trap set for Jesus. The Pharisees broke the law and were hypocrites. The punishment for bringing charges that could not be proved was the accusers suffered the punishment that the accused would have. They would have been stoned to death because THEY broke the law. THAT is why Jesus said "He who is without sin cast the first stone".

Well I didn’t buy a cake. I didn’t hang a banner. But I am HAPPY this scumbag is dead. And though the mother can’t be happy about anything, since nothing brings her daughter back, she is RELIEVED that this scumbag is dead. And I am HAPPY for her.

So is that “celebrating”? Who cares? That’s just semantics.

Bottom line is: it is GOOD that this scumbag is dead. Everything else, including admonishments against “celebrating”, is just so much BS.

Let me close with this thought:

Celebrate, celebrate, dance to the music.

Exactly Sir. There should be such a thing as cruel and unusual punishments for cruel and unusual crimes. In my opinion, given what this monster did to that poor girl I'd go the full Vlad Tepes route and let the punishment at least come close to fitting the crime.

The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

The Democrat party has become an organization whose primary reason for existence is to shield people from the consequences of their bad decisions.

“But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it [government] does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.”

Well done. That is the same verse I was going to quote.

We are not simply celebrating a death, we are celebrating INDEPENDENCE! Independence and the “Jack Booted” liberals that wallow in Political Correctness. The same PC that has just about ruined our country and society.

We have laws in Texas...laws granted under the 10th Amendment and we (Texans) aggressively protect that right and no usurper or foreign government will force us to give up any part of that right.

You kill someone in Texas...you will be prosecuted UNDER TEXAS LAW! Not the Mexican law or Washington DC’s law.

I tire dangerously of the irreligious and the ignorant lecturing me about my religion. For Christians, the definitive doctrine on capitol punishment is found in Romans Chapter 13:

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

God has authorized the state to execute justice, up to and including "the sword". When an execution takes place at the hand of a state actor under the sentence of law, it is no sin but is the will of God.

BTW, enjoy your zot.

All of you are a bunch of hypocrites...

I guess the fact that a fetus is innocent while a murderer is guilty doesn't factor into your moral calculus.

He also said something about ‘rendering unto Caesar
that which is Caesar’s’.

I will agree that street parties celebrating this man’s execution are in poor taste, but on the fundamental
question as to whether justice was done I would venture a guess that Our Lord would not have a problem with the
sentence.

“He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death. But if he did not lie in wait, but God delivered him into his hand, then I will appoint for you a place where he may flee. But if a man acts with premeditation against his neighbour, to kill him with guile, you shall take him from My altar, that he may die.” [Ex. 21:12-14, NKJV] Here we see a qualification. If the death was an accident [manslaughter] the killer was not necessarily “off the hook” but he did not face capital punishment. If it was premeditated murder, the killer was to be put to death without exception.
