A Mexican national was executed Thursday for the rape-slaying of a teenager after the U.S. Supreme Court turned down a White House-supported appeal to spare him in a death penalty case where Texas justice triumphed over international treaty concerns. Humberto Leal, 38, received lethal injection for the 1994 murder of Adria Sauceda. She was fatally bludgeoned with a piece of asphalt. Leal was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. EDT (2221 GMT).

Not really. The prosecution did not prove its case in the Anthony trial. There is no comparison.
Texans are not an unlawful mob.
“either you are pro life or your are pro death.”
From a moralistic point of view, the death penalty can be justified. Abortion cannot.
I agree.
What I also find hypocritical is declaring that eating meat is wrong, while having no objection to any abortions.
I can respect them for their belief about animals, but in that case how can they advocate killing innocent human beings?
“HOT TAMALE!”
He got the big chorizo.
The AP bias showed through calling him a Mexican citizen whereas another article on here correctly called him an illegal alien. All news stories before the juice flowed presented only the Obutt/UN/Mexican position. Justice Scalia told them how the cow eats the cabbage and effectively put down Obama. Poetic justice payback for Obutts criticism of the court’s decision on campaign financing. His decision on this case is outstanding reading.
It was nice to win one for a change.
I too am glad he’s gone. God set the precedence for taking the life of one who commits such a heinous crime...I’m satisfied that the right decision was made. God Bless Texas!
Doesn't matter to Obama and Holder.
Northwestern University Law School is where Bill Ayers’ wife, Bernadine Dohrn worked as a legal assistant of some kind.
This is one of the worst law schools in regards to protecting the law abiding citizens in the U.S.
Others, John Jay College/NYU, CUNY, Rutgers, Harvard, Yale, Un. of Calif., Berkeley. etc.
“The Obama administration, last week, asked the Supreme Court to prevent Texas from doing this but they didnt!”
This is sorta off topic but how is it that the president can get such quick action from the Supreme Court but those states appealing ObamaCare have to go thru the appellate maze.
In any event SCOTUS (5) did the right thing once they decided to take the case.
Adios, hasta la vista, and vaya con Dios, baby!!
“..I think he should have been treated as a Mexican citizen and allowed extradition..”
I see how you got your first handle, Dutchman. Lost in space.
No justice...YET. I have a feeling she’ll do something else stupid.
After all, stupid is as stupid does. :)
You need to get a clue. There is a big difference between executing a convicted murderer and murdering an innocent. Just as there is a big difference between a just war of self defense versus an unjust war.
I noticed they referred to him as a native of Monterrey.
Whenever I write letters to the editors, I only get grief from Libtards and lots of arguments. I’m proud of you! Cool! Keep up the good deeds.
Mexico does not have the death penalty, it is a Catholic country.
Your logic does not work. Abortion takes an innocent life that never had a chance to live.
The death penalty takes the life of someone who abused his/her chance on this earth and deserves to die.
As for rotting in Hell, that’s up to God.
