Today is the day she may walk free. Prepare yourselves.
Call me Pollyanna, but the Judge did give FingerBoy 6 days. Hopefully he has scoured the law so she can cool her heels a little longer.
I am not debating your freedom to condemn the jury. Go ahead and complain about them all you want.
If you are ever sitting in that seat, and your defense attorney is weeding through the candidates for your jury do you want them the work to get the best jury in your favor or should we make sure the prosecution gets only their picks.
I am NOT defending Casey in this. I am defending the process. The process works 99% of the time. I trust that juries will make the proper calls 99% of the time.
What is THAT so outrageous?
I know - what I can’t get is how the very folks saying we aren’t being conservatives because we aren’t accepting this verdict are the very folks who have complained about everything Congress has done over the last 3 years! Why is our complaining about this branch of government any different than their complaints about other branches?
But the prosecution didnt did they. The prosecutor himself admitted that they couldnt prove that it was actually a murder. The prosecution could have either tried to prove murder or accident but not both. They stressed murder but couldnt prove even cause of death. They tied the hands of the jury by trying to prove murder or homicide but didnt have enough evidence to prove it wasnt an accident. Thus the dilemma of the jury which put them in a box of having to decide beyond a reasonable doubt that a murder was committed which even the prosecutor admitted they couldnt prove.
I said the jury didn't even take a day to discuss the evidence. You still didn't answer my question to you
Was it Casey that did it? Or did George? Or maybe Cindy? There could be a pretty good case made for all three of them.
My theory is that it was conspiracy of the three of them.
But the three of them were not on trial.
One of them was.
And, the Defense does not have to say a damn thing. It is not up to the Defense top prove anything. It is up to the state to make the case. Beyond all reasonable doubt (or whatever the standard is in FLA.)
All of the things you say point to Casey and her parents. You will have to agree with me that something weird was going on there.
But the state needed to pin it on one of them, and they couldn’t do it.
I'm going with the alien abduction theory.
I didn’t hear about the porn pictures?
The only thing that I’d add to your summary of the evidence is that the mother never came home during the 31 days that the child was not reported missing. There was always some phony excuse — at the nanny’s, at the beach, at tony’s, etc. ad nauseum.
This was the first time EVER a jury was brought in from another county on a local crime. I still say it was rigged...11 dumbies and one stong arm....After 30 days....another good reason for the “let’s get outa here” verdict. But notice that they had lunch first!!
And during a trial, are the rules for selecting a jury there to help the prosecution or the defense? Which side do you want the rules on?
The jury system works.
If you do not trust it, then you will be basing your life on the whims of a single person’s idea of proof.
I am sure you do not want to go there.
Which is EXACTLY what I said and how the system works.
If a juror goes into a trial, as they are to do, with a presumption of innocence, believes the evidence is strong enough to prove guilt after the State has placed their case and still believes in that guilt after the defense is finished, the defense did not raise reasonable doubt to the point the person should be acquitted.
That is exactly, at the very basic, how our system of law if supposed to work.
A tragic duct tape accident?
Dennis Miller called the jury MORONS last night.
Kids who go to law school are brainwashed, so lawyers might agree with the verdict.
Normal people, however, with a sense of morality and justice should not be dumb enough to let this woman off....a woman who did not report her baby missing.
Who is saying we should destroy our trial process?
You guys have been and are defending the jury over this.
Very few people have said they want to lynch these people.
folks here are getting mad because you and others are saying the jury was 100% correct in their decision. Even when you say shes obviously into it up to her eyeballs, you still defend the jury saying it was the right choice.
With access to the special, commemorative duct tape.
“Why couldnt George have done it? He certainly seemed guilty of something....”
LOl, like I stated regarding weak minds are attracted to conspiracy theories. I suppose the Mossad could have been behind 9-11 as well.
They didn't get "circumstantial evidence". Dumb jurors....very dumb...and lazy...and selfish...
