They didn't get "circumstantial evidence". Dumb jurors....very dumb...and lazy...and selfish...
A nice, clean gotcha with the DNA and intact body absolves the jury from having to think too much and actually assess what really happened.
It also makes them feel good because they didn’t have to make a tough decision. It was easier this way.
