He made his choice.
He chose poorly.
Define irony!
Darwin’s award.
I like to believe he was making the ultimate statement.
Ridin’ down the street, sun shinin’, pavement whippin’ through your hair...
That’s a feeling like no other, man.
Actually no, its his god given right to CHOICE not to wear those death buckets.
While stats show that yes, your chances of surviving the accident a vegetable are increased, overall, you are more likely to get into the accident in the first place from wearing a death bucket due to lack of periphrial and reduced hearing and line of vision. They are horse blinders forced on us by the uber libs who feel they know whats good for us.Things happen and this guy is a small minority when it comes to the stats of riders in accidents.
Instant Karma’s gonna get you....
Ultimate in effect if not in intelligence.
He sure did. Anyone with any sense would wear a helmet. I wouldn’t need no stinkin’ law to make me wear a helmet.
stats schmats.
let the individual decide the amount of safety he desires for himself...and keep the govt. out of our lives...
( *smack on head* ) “I coulda hit a V8.”
I happen to agree with him. If the government orders motorcycle drivers or riders to wear helmets, why doesn't the government so order drivers and riders in cars? Would not that also save lives?
I agree that it should be freedom of choice, but the ‘deathbucket’ saved my life several times. One time, nearly 14 yrs ago, I was coming around an asphalt curve, and with the overcast sky eliminating any shadows the scattered pea gravel would have given warning to. I was traveling about 60, and I went down hard, tumbling. My previously unmarred helmet was scarred up in several places.
I was SO glad I wore the ‘bucket’ that day. And REALLY glad no one was coming from the other direction as I tumbled across the road.
I was no newbie either, having riden pasture, dirt, sand, gravel, sealcoat, asphalt, and concrete for over 33 years up to that point. I’m glad I’m still around to enjoy my wife and family. The bike is just a piece of machinery. I can get along just fine without it.
I’m sure the insurance lobby is the driving force behind these laws.
I didn’t even think of that, good call!
Delicious irony. That being said R.I.P.
At least the world is one less motorcycle quieter.
That day may yet come.
I've often thought of voluntarily wearing a helmet when driving, especially when the weather is bad.
