Another precious raccoon!
They have been getting in
my son’s garbage a lot
lately! He lives in the
woods and the other day he
said he saw a raccoon, a skunk,
and a groundhog up in the woods!
I told him to watch that skunk
and he has a cat!

LOL...he/she is cute for sure but they can be very agressive and/or vicious!

Had a friend when we were young who had a pet raccoon. He kept it on a long leash tied up in their back yard as it was blind. At night he would put it in a cage in his room. I don't think it realized it was not supposed to be a friendly critter...lol.

We had one several years ago that kept getting into our garage. We too had a cat and a dog. They LOVE dry pet food. I kept wondering why the cats water container was empty every day as it was pretty good sized.

Then the discovery happened when that coon actually managed to get to a new bag of cat food and totally demolished it! lol. (After opening cat and dog food it went into large rubber maid containers with lids). However, no matter what we did...it didn't help. Finally, had to keep all their food in the laundry room.

Before I leave to get some work done, Meg had a raccoon that she fed every evening and one evening it came and brought its babies and they all fed there for a long time. She loved them and we always told her to be careful

I’m sure she could tell you all about it. She was sad until this year, one finally came and she started feeding it and I’m not sure if it kept coming.

Maybe Meg can tell us about her love for them.

But they still try to get into my son’s trash but he loves them and thinks they’re so cute.
