What a jerk that guy was! I’m wishing the dog had at least got a piece of his hand or something through the fence.
He’ll be the first one crying about dogs being vicious if one of those dogs gets out and gets him too.
No need for that behavior at all. Karma needs to come get that guy and I hope your neighbors are insured well because you know if something happens he’ll be suing.

It will serve the guy right if the dog takes a piece out of him, but then what will happen is that the dog will be labeled vicious and will be put down. That won’t be too funny, will it?
You going to talk to your neighbor about this incident? He may know something.
When I worked w/juvenile offenders, they used to open the gates to let the dogs out, and then return after half an hour to burglarize the place. Sounds like this mutha jumpa had a history of mistreatment w/that dog. Good spot. I hope the dog doesn’t suffer for protecting his property. (I used to take care of interlopers myself. Kept dogs inside; I went out to circle the perimeter.)

Can you modify the top of the fence so that it flexes down when the dog is really excited?
This would make fun film if the man in question suddenly found that there was no fence between him and the dog.
I’d advise your neighbor to get the burgler alarm and cameras working. Toot sweet. And brush up the dog on not eating any meat thrown in the yard.
You see, we Americans have respect and a love for dogs, even those we don’t particularly cotton to. Other nationalities, on the other hand, won’t think twice about killing them, and cruely, if they stand in the way of their objective.
Your neighbor obviously has something scumbag feels ‘entitled’ to, and intents to take. Tormenting the dog is the first step in turning it into an object - and in it’s death.
I would take this event very seriously.

Name the street and I will drive by to see a 8 foot mesh link fence.
For those who don’t know Garland, it looks JUST like ARLEN in King of the Hill.....There are no 8 foot mesh fences, and you can’t spit through a wooden fence.
In Texas? Talk to your neighbor about it. Take a picture of the jerk with your phone next time and send it to your neighbor.

My guess is this moron has harrassed these dogs on more than one occassion prior to this incident you witnessed. Others on the thread have suggested pictures and/or video of this idiot if he returns, and I concur. If the 80 lb pit were to get a piece of this guy, deservedly so, the dog would likely be viewed by LE as the aggressor absent evidence of this idiot’s actions.

It is refreshing to read a story that is not along the pit bull bite man threads I constantly see on the F.R. I wonder if this was not a Muslim who looks Hispanic. Muslims would most likely spit on a dog who they despise as being unclean. I would be tempted to dig out an exit hole under that fence. I am surprised the dogs have not already started one.
we have a 100-pound pit and he might knock down and lick an intruder to death but not much more. He’s also scared of cameras, including cell phone cameras. He will hide if someone is trying to take his picture.
Quite a few years ago, I had a friend in Houston that owned a wrecking yard protected by a big, viscious white Shepard/Pit mix that was kept chained to an old flat bed in the front of the yard with 40 feet of heavy chain. There was also about 40 feet of dirt between the dog and a water filled ditch that ran along the front of the property next to the road.
Every day, a group of 10 or so Mexicans would come by and harass that dog from the road. The dog would hit the end of that chain so hard that the flat bed trailer shook. We often speculated what would happen if someone accidentally left the chain unhooked. Finally, someone did!:)
When the dog realized that he was loose, he didn’t respond at all to the taunts, instead just lay under the flatbed watching. One of the idiots finally jumped the ditch and shouted at the dog from inside the “kill zone”. The dog just watched (so did my brother and I from behind a pile of scrap metal). With the rest of his fellows cheering him on, the Mex with the big testicles got within 10 feet of the pit with no response from the dog. Then he turned his back... that animal had him by the back of the upper arm in about a half second and started dragging him back under the trailer. The others left screaming in terror while their friend was being mauled.
When my brother and I realized that the guy was going to be eaten, we stopped laughing ourselves silly, and pried Dog’s jaws open with two railroad spikes. The guy’s upper arm was torn so bad you could see daylight between the back of arm and the bone. As soon as he was loose, he jumped back over the ditch and ran like Hades away from the property, and Dog went back under the trailer. I would swear that he had a grin on his face.
Unless there's a castle-law in Texas. In this case, it's better to end the threat forever.
