Still waiting on the West Goshen Twp., Pa. police report, and judging by the gruesome crash-scene photo, it'll take a while to piece any details together. But, this photograph was posted on Dunn's Twitter account (@ryandunntv) at about 12:15 a.m. The crash was at 2:38 a.m.

Mods, I guess you pulled the last one because it was (mistakenly) sourced to AM NY.
Anyway, this gets a Tautologically-headline-alert.

Can someone explain this to me... I keep hearing the word “tragic” thrown around to describe this event. Maybe I am just heartless but I do not see it this way... I mean, the guy chose to get drunk as a skunk, chose to go driving, and killed himself and his passenger as a direct result of these choice. Is tragedy applicable here, or is the definition of tragedy restricted to more “freakish,” “random” events?

I’m trying to care, but honestly, the best I can do is, “Thank God he only killed one other person.” And I’m sorry for the families of both. If one of my sons turns out to be a jackass and kills himself, I’ll be sad.

Tragic does not apply.Tragic was when the local High School quarterback and his buddy were drag racing here a few years ago and he collided with a young mother and her 6 year old daughter-killing them both.

Technically, a tragedy is the downfall of a hero who has one flaw that leads to his fated and inevitable demise.
But now it apparently means any event that anyone perceives as sad.
It frustrated me that 9/11 was continually referred to as a "tragedy" when it was, in reality, an atrocity.

Yep...I was an insurance adjuster before getting into the marketing end of the business. I handled more than one claim with a fatlity due to drunk driving. Having been closely involved with cleaning up the aftermath of these “accidents”, I have little sympathy for anyone who drives drunk.

I don’t know, chick. I wasn’t in the car with him. No idea if passenger was pased out, digging the ride, or screaming for the Jackass to slow down.

I really hope I can teach my own children to never get into a car with a drunk driver.
