A man who told police he was a cardiologist was charged with felony cruelty to an animal after he tried to operate on his dog while drunk, Chicago police say.
Stewart Gibbs, 44, of the 200 block of North Clinton Street, was arrested at about 10 p.m. Sunday after he told police he tried to remove a cyst from his Dobermans right ear, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
Police said they were called to Gibbs condo and, when he opened the door, his hands were covered in blood and he appeared intoxicated.

"...Gibbs did not claim to be a veterinarian, but told officers he was a cardiologist...There is no state license information on Gibbs being a physician."

Cardiologist, not a veterinarian.
Difference between a doctor and God? God doesn’t think He’s a doctor.
Drunken butthead.

Would it still be animal cruelty if he wasn't drunk?

“Gibbs” and “chicago”....I thought it was Baghdad Bob Gibbs having another genius idea.
To: max americana
Robert Gibbs is a cyst. He'd have had to be removing himself.

In his defense he normally only operates on people while drunk.

It is one of the great injustices of life that domestic pets do not have litter-to-grave health care.

“litter-to-grave health care.”
Yes, that would be one lame liberal response. Another would be: if we banned ownership of dogs and use of alcohol, these things wouldn’t happen.

I have TruPanion on my brats.
90% coverage, zero deductible, no lifetime payout limits, no rate increase due to aging, covers ALL illnesses, whether inherited or acquired, including hip dysplasia.
Even though they don’t cover “pre-existing conditions”, when my dog’s recent titers came back as “clinically insignificant”, they struck his “pre-existing illness” from their records.
They rock.

Oh...wait...I’m not *that* freaking crazy stupid suicidal.
