The radio preacher who sparked an international media frenzy by predicting the end of the world last month has suffered a stroke.
Harold Camping was rushed to hospital from his Alameda, California home on Thursday night.
The 89-year-old has survived the stroke - but there are fears that the gravelly, famous voice he used to make his predictions to millions around the world will never be the same.

I predict he won’t be making a statement about it.
Found via Gateway Pundit, by the way. Along with Ace of Spades, the best blogs ever.
He was only off by a month.
Faking it to gain sympathy!
According to Camping , God choses... you.
The End time only applied to HIM.
Exactly right.
Perhaps God has silenced him so he can’t cause more scandal to Christians and make them the targets of even more ridicule than usual?
Having worked with stroke survivors, I will attest that aphasia is one of the most common symptoms in the aftermath of a stroke.
However, the timing of this event, the circumstances, and the irony is not lost on me.
Good one.
BTW-Thingol’s Melian?
That is what one may expect to happen to a “preacher” whom lies in the face of the Almighty and just God.
Serves him right for pushing his farce.
While I think these false predictions do a huge disservice to how Christianity is viewed, in light of his stroke I won’t say anything bad about him.
Interestingly, my old man was all caught up in a prediction that the rapture (or whatever) was coming in 1988. He ended up dieing suddenly that year (and was ready!). It was a good reminder to me that the end of the world is going to happen to every single one of us. Perhaps this Camping fellow had a similar feeling as my old man.
So God decided to finally shut him up. Amen.
The world is coming to an end for him?
Not that I like to see anyone suffer...just sayin’.....
All I will say is that God doesn't like people messing with HIS Plan!!!
This guy is just like Benny Hinn.
Sadly people believe them.......
I seem to recall he was a solid preacher for years.
Some people bring Joy where ever they go....others when ever they go...
We don’t know when Jesus is coming again, and we also don’t know when we are going to die, so act accordingly, and don’t destroy people’s faith with false, goofy prophecies.
We should pray that this blasphemer seeks forgiveness before it is too late.
