The shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. on the 900 block of NE 125th Street. According to police, someone drove up and the passenger got out of the car and shot Bell multiple times.
North Miami Police said that multiple suspects were possibly seen leaving the scene in a dark colored vehicle with a spoiler on the rear, or a light colored car.
At this time, we dont have a motive but we can tell you that nothing was taken. He had jewelry on him, money on him, his car keys, so were looking for why this happened, said North Miami public information officer Neil Cuevas.
According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Bell had appeared on HBOs Def Poetry Jam recently. Bell was known as Da Real One, and had also been featured on Rick Ross and Pit Bulls albums.

I wonder if there were any Pima County deputies in the area at the time of the shooting. If I were a homicide detective, that would be my first question.

This must be one of those “old school” vs. “new school” poetry feuds, kind of like the Romantics vs. the Classicists back in the 18th Century. I heard Coleridge never went anywhere without his Glock.

The mayor of Miami recently gave "Pit Bull" the key to the city.

It's really a shame; he was just an "aspiring artist" who was "turning his life around" in spite of having been "known to the authorities" because of a few past "brushes with the law", which of course is understandable for a "disadvantaged minority" member who nonetheless struggled to become a "genuine voice of the community".
I'm sorry: did I miss any clichés there?

The only person who would think that this guy was a poet would be Obama. Of course it would have been a better story if it had been a mime

So rappers, thugs and the like are poets now?
Good to know.
I guess like taggers who deface public and private property with grafitti are also “artists”.

Area citizens can rest easy. The cops are on the job and have a solid lead on the get away car.

kind of like the Romantics vs. the Classicists back in the 18th Century.I've heard the Asian literary gangs are moving in. Could be a Haiku hitman.
