Grease star Jeff Conaway died today after a drug overdose sent him into a coma two weeks ago.
His family are understood to have decided to turn off his life support machine yesterday.
His ex-girlfriend Vikki Lizzi, who claims she has power of attorney over the 60-year-old, tried to block the move.
The actor, who famously played Kenickie in the hit 1978 film, has been in a deep coma since taking an overdose of painkillers earlier this month.
Conaway's family, who have kept a vigil at the Los Angeles hospital over the past two weeks, have been told by doctors that the star is losing his battle to live, according to Radar Online.

Rest in Peace.
Drugs make such a terrible waste of so many talented people.
Prayers for the repose of his soul, and for his family to find comfort.

Damn! I played Kenickie in a local production back in the 80's. I studied him a lot to get the part down.
RIP

He had more chances than most of us get. He voted “no” on life.

ON Celebrity Rehab, Dr Drew told him he was going to end up killing himself.
Just like the Alice in Chains drummer.

He was apparently a drugger for a long time. Might explain his nit wittery. I think that was why he was fired from Taxi even though he told everyone he was too big for that show.
Conaway left Taxi after the third season. Taxi writer Sam Simon recalled in 2008 that during production of Simon's first script for that show, an absent Conaway was found in his dressing room too high on drugs to perform, and that his dialog for that episode was divided up between fellow co-stars Danny DeVito and Christopher Lloyd. This contributed to Conaway's eventual firing.
Just stupid.

I believe Dr. Drew just last week said it wasn’t drugs, it wasn’t a coma it was just a bout of pneumonia. Oops, I’m not a doctor but I play one on TV.

Same here ---
A hickey from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card: "When you care enough to send the very best."

Saw him on “Celebrity Rehab” a few years back. Addited to pain killers because of a failed back surgery.
Surprised he lasted this long.
RIP, Mr Conaway
