It is clear that we are an utterly failed species. Left to our own devices, all we do is embrace the profane, the untrue, and outright evil.
In only a few decades, I have seen America START as a world leader in industry; a world policy maker; and a world instructor in how to be free and a functional representative republic. I have seen America FINISH as a second-rate financial has-beenl a country ridiculed on the international stage; and a nearly-complete Police State where SWAT kills with impunity and political 'crimes' abound.
Russia, too, attempted to throw off the chains of Communism, only to be immediately taken over by a crime syndicate. So, even when the failed policies of Communism are overthrown, all humanity seems to want to do is destroy itself anyways.
Communism appears to be on the march again, though it is very obvious by now to even the casual observer that it does not, has not, will never work.
Islam, a religion dominated by fanatics who willingly kill themselves to advance their cause of chaos and hate, is on the rise and is marked for ascendancy. This religion, dictated by a epileptic sun-mad pedophile, subjegates women, holds lying as acceptable, and insists death be the result of trying to leave Islam.
We are a failed species. The only possible solution is the complete extermination of the entire human race. We have utterly no chance of redemption, and we only spread evil. It is time to remove this cancerous growth known as 'mankind' from the universe.
Didn't figure you for the "opus" kind, Laz.
okay. you go first
If you think things are bad, pick up a copy of Edward Gibbon’s “Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.” That will cheer you right up.
I think your just a little bit of a crybaby ;)
Incorrect. Leftists revel in our imperfections, perversions, and evil -- and hold it out as a reason for our continued existence.
Nah, the idea that mankind is perfectible is precisely what progressives/leftists believe. They hold that we humans have it within ourselves to become perfect. They reject the idea that God created us with all our foibles and faults and that no amount of wishful thinking will ever change what we are. It's why secular socialists constantly push an economic system that rejects human nature, where religious conservatives push a system that harnesses human nature.
It is frustrating though. Just when it feels we've politically taken a step forward, people revert to stupid and take 2 steps back. Still, we are what we are and that's just life. Do the best you can to point people in the right direction, lead a good life and enjoy it while your here.
A little more thought given to this topic.
In that case, get of the internet for a few days, take some B-12, and get some damned exercise out in the sun.
***Laz, you need to hit something.***
You’ll be OK, Laz. I understand that Helen Thomas is available, and who but YOU would...
What do you have against Hannity? He’s rather a nerd, and his hair looks fake, but he has a cute smile.
Has Laz joined the other side?
If true .... Humanity is doomed!
A quick (too quick) glance at the headline had me thinking that Fox and WABC finally realized Sean’s a true idiot.
Ping
Hannity is a good example of how even so-called Conservatives break down to simpletons pushing marxists over time.
Your senses are clouded at this moment because you have no one to help you back up. It is like focusing on one thing in a painting. Yes you see the one item clearly but you miss the whole picture. That is what a church family is for. They help you step back and bring everything back into focus.
Hey Laz,
Take this in the spirit in which it is given. I think you are very sincere and in a rare instance not being humorous or sarcastic (which I love it when you are).
But since you seem to be despairing of hope, let me offer you the hope which is the bedrock of my life. You can believe or not, I’m not trying to get in some religious debate. But know that I am saying this sincerely, and I give it to you as (hopefully) an encouragement to you, as a FR friend, not a holier-than-thou guy (which I ain’t).
America may be on the way out. I don’t know. I hope and pray not. But this is my foundation:
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22
Psalm 90:2
Matthew 28:19
I Peter 1:2
II Corinthians 13:14
Man
Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates man from God.
Genesis 1:27
Psalm 8:3-6
Isaiah 53:6a
Romans 3:23
Isaiah 59:1-2
Eternity
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
John 3:16
I John 2:25 & 5:11-13
Romans 6:23
Revelation 20:15
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Matthew 1:22-23
Isaiah 9:6
John 1:1-5 & 14:10-30
Hebrews 4:14-15
I Corinthians 15:3-4
Romans 1:3-4
Acts 1:9-11
I Timothy 6:14-15
Titus 2:13.
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Romans 6:23
Ephesians 2:8-9
John 14:6 & 1:12
Titus 3:5
Galatians 3:26
Romans 5:1
Eternal Security
Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
John 10:29
II Timothy 1:12
Hebrews 7:25 & 10:10-14
I Peter 1:3-5
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
II Corinthians 3:17
John 16:7-13 & 14:16-17
Acts 1:8
I Corinthians 2:12 & 3:16
Ephesians 1:13
Galatians 5:25
Ephesians 5:18
The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
II Timothy 3:16-17
II Peter 1:20-21
II Timothy 1:13
Psalm 119:105,160 & 12:6
Proverbs 30:5
On the other hand, you have Christianity made up of faithful believers in a God and Savior that commands us to love one another as we love ourselves, that proclaims there is no greater love than to lay down one's life to protect one's friend, to pray for our enemies, and to live in peace. We are commanded by the Lamb of God who willingly gave his sinless life so that wicked man may be reconciled and redeemed to God, who tells us to seek the Truth, to treat each other with respect out of love, that commands husbands to love their wives as Christ loves His church, and who gave mankind a free will to decide for himself whether man will freely follow and obey out of love a God of love or choose to be eternally separated from Him.
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. - 1 John 1:5
Go to the Light, Laz. - love you, man. - OB1
While that was light and happy reading, I prefer, for a pick-me-up happy happy happy volume, "The Diary of Anne Frank".
Interesting.
“Unintended Consequences” by John Ross.
Best book I’ve ever read.
That borderline brought tears to my eyes. There is only one perfect good, and that is God.
