NORTON UPDATE AND FR LOGIN PROBLEM.
I know, I know...don't use the hog Norton. But, we have 400+ days of coverage left. Also in the update Norton has placed on the top: Norton_______________Search, OK Safe Web, and Identity Safe. I don't remember them being there before....maybe they were.
Thanks.
It may have changed your browser settings to clear authenticated sessions every time you close your browser. What type of browser are you using?
Are you logged on?
Are you logged in?
Maybe change your socks?
Dang, beat me by 15 seconds.
I’m using Symantec Endpoint, which the the corporate version of Norton—and I must say seems to work better. But I haven’t seen that problem.
It must be doing something to your FreeRepublic cookie, I should think. Has it reset itself to delete cookies or something?
Change your password to “Homina Homina Homina”
Thats what it sounds like, change your setting to not delete cookies for this website, you have that ability.
Firefox.
I updated Norton two days ago. No problems here or anywhere.
I was wondering the same thing. That picking on Fr thing.
Click Tools > Clear Recent History > Expand Details and see if Active Logins is checked. If so, uncheck it. That setting would basically log you out every time you left. You also could be set to private browsing. To check that look on your address bar and see if there is something that looks like a mask. Or you can click tools and see if it says ‘stop private browsing’ (click that).
If not one of those, I’m not sure.
Active login was checked, so I unchecked it.
Thank you for calling the FR tech support hotline..I am Baldeesh and I am will be so humble to assist you...
AAAAAAH I think I found your problem...You mentioned “NORTON”
Bishnu himself doesn’t use Norton..why should you?

My name is Peggy....
Try putting your settings back to default.
It did the same to me.
Your login screen now has your name and password hidden in a pulldown box. Just click on the box where you put your name and it will appear, along with your pasword in dots........
