NOT HER TIME TO RUN. Get a grip. I love her, but you all need to face the reality of this next election. If she is on the ticket Obama is guaranteed another four years in the White House and we can all kiss our country goodbye.

Disagree. Your position lacks evidence.

More than half the country hates her, her disapproval ratings are at the 60% mark...would you be so blind to throw in a candidate who cannot win the game...and if so, why?

Perry/Palin sounds good to me.

Katy Perry needs seasoning in the VP role. < /sarc >

Negatives numbers are illusory. Once she enters those negatives can disappear in a heartbeat. Not to recognize this is not to understand the fluid nature of pre-debate polls in America, especially in this marxist media.

If we were to believe the media polls, we would give up running anybody because, according to media polls, not a single republican candidate can beat zer0 in 2012.

But in the real world I believe that 0bama can be beaten by just about anybody we run, and Sarah is the best of the bunch. Sarah plus another good conservative is a killer combo.

So you go ahead and virulently spout the marxist media spin, and I’ll believe the Tea Party and the good people here on Free Republic who have proven correct so far. Mix those in with the people I know personally in Real Life and I feel quite confident in my predictions.

GO SARAH!

RE :”That would be a horrible piece of data to base a “run/don't run” decision on, as Bachmann has absolutely zero chance of winning the nomination, even in this weak field. I think Cain has no chance either, but he'll be a real contender long before Bachmann is.

I am just speculating that she may figure the two have so much in common, so why run against her? That she thinks that Bachmann cant win the nomination and that will shape her decision is similar speculation as mine.

Thanks for a decent, and by that I mean kind, reply. On some of these threads that is not always common.

I know a lot of what I wrote might seem “off the cuff” and without basis.

The trust issue comes from my gut when I watch her. I felt that leaving the governorship was a betrayal of trust to her constituents. I understand the reasons, and it is something I would be willing to forgive her for.

The family issues come from personal conversations with people that lived in their home town. I was amazed that college kids I worked with were from such a small town across the country. When they spoke of the family they did not speak of her as a “hockey mom” and they did not really hold the other kids in high esteem. These were non political kids who are literally peers and classmates of her kids. Those, independent comments, made me see her as a normal “big fish in a little pond.” Not uncommon for small town leaders. But don’t try to sell me as one thing, when it is/was pretty easy to get first hand information that is was not as it was presented.

If she had not made it a strong part of her political persona, I really wouldn’t care about her marriage or family. Mine certainly would not hold up to that kind of scrutiny as every family has their private issues.

I think that being a governor is probably the best base from which to run for President. Being the person with the last say, and being the person who can be the last defense against political abuse of the legislature is important. So it has nothing to do with intellect (I dont care if she went to college or where.)

Harry Truman was a remarkable man. He went from the definition of political hack to being a pretty good leader of his party. I certainly respect that. BUT he did plenty of years a senator and did himself proud during his hearings on waste in government contractor spending.

I don’t know enough about Cain to make a point. Bachman may be OK, we will see.

It is really, really early at this time. And, after all of this, if she is the nominee, I will would put a Palin sign in my front yard here in MA. And she will get my vote.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. And again, thanks for a “discussion.” Those are rare these days.

Pretty pompous aren’t you that you seem to feel it’s perfectly fine to say I “spout the marxist media spin” just because you believe differently than I do regarding potential candidates whom I feel cannot win our country back. For the record I am a conservative, believe and support what the Tea Party stands for and I, too, know people in my “Personal Life” who think like I do.

When you begin your original post by telling us all we need to get a grip on reality you can count on getting a little dose of that reality back.

I do, and if she doesn’t run, I won’t vote. I don’t like any of our other “choices”.

I only wrote “get a grip” and wasn’t “telling us all”. The comment was to YOU answering YOUR post. If you think using the word “marxist” is a nice thing to say to someone who clearly does not listen to or believe in marxist media doctrine, then you are the one with the problem. You posted “Who Still Wants Sarah To Run?” therefore I mistakenly assumed you were looking for a diversify of comments, not an affirmation of your beliefs. The only reality here is that your mind is closed against any considerations of potential candidates other than Palin.

There you go defining reality again. I reject it.

Only yours.

Of that you are not capable. If you think you are defining my reality, that is the definition of delusional. Only you can determine whether this is true or not.

I have my own opinion.

I have to agree. Other than giving a few speeches and saying the right things, what the heck has she done for everyone to go gaga over?

‘Cause she’s pretty?

If it comes down to her or Barry, then we’ll talk.

I neither care or want to define anyone’s reality...my only reqret is that I made a simple comment to your question expressing my OWN opinion which didn’t happen to agree with yours and now I am being accused, by you, of marxist leanings or that I may be delusional... If you didn’t want any response to your question you should have alerted the rest of us who believe differently and can handle the diversity of opinions. We all have one. Let’s just agree to disagree. Personally I’m favoring Herman Cain, not Palin.

“And I’m sure she is reading the tea leaves... and Free Republic... to judge her support.”

If Sarah Palin is reading FR threads she should be embarrased, disgusted with the hate filled, name calling, and fanatical “support” from the usual suspects here on FR. She is not a “Saint” as many here have elevated her to, nobody, no politician is.

There is a common, sophistic theme of criticism running through FR that says "anyone showing support for Sarah idolizes her and blindly supports her for shallow reasons. Those people are fools."

I reject that criticism and point to this very thread to refute it.

Sarah might not run. I've already stated on this thread that I'm looking at Cain either as a running mate or POTUS candidate if she doesn't.

We started at cross purposes when you burst onto the scene with your "get a grip" rant. That is poor form indeed and is not the opening gambit of a civil discourse.

This last info that you favor Herman Cain is the first opportunity you've given me to find common ground.

Something to think about next time.
