Romney & Huntsman: You were spirit-born in Kolob? Show us the spirit-birth certificates! [Vanity]
Vanity | May 17, 2011 | Colofornian

The real question the media needs to ask Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman -- and even Harry Reid coincides with my new tagline: 'SHOW US YOUR SPIRITUAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM KOLOB'

Mormons make bold claims to a pre-existence on Kolob: Having a dad-become-god father and a divine mother...giving "spirit birth" as aliens to this planet. Then being sent here to Planet Earth to inhabit bodies.

Well. We wanna see the proof!

Actually, I'd even settle for significantly less than "proof!" I'd just like to hear each of them utter: "Yes, I was spirit-born on Kolob to a divine goddess."

That's it!

We'd just like them to give their "Mormon testimony" that yes, they were indeed "spirit born" on another planet! We would take this "conviction" as their "word" on the subject and wouldn't need any behind-the-scene investigators.

Certainly, the bar threshold being demanded by us "spirit-birthers" re: "proof" would then be much lower for these Kolob kandidates than what 'birthers' are demanding for President Obama. [It'll still rank higher than the MSM's scrutiny bar of President Obama]

Romney is entitled to his beliefs

Who says he isn't?

Being "entitled" to religious convictions doesn't mean they are armor-coated. (Often it's the religiously insecure who seek such a defense)

...he and the rest of the mormons aren’t forcing those beliefs on anyone.

"Force" and spiritual coercion aren't too far apart...and some of those 52,000 Lds missionaries engage in the latter in cultures where some are spiritually vulnerable.

They’re not out there mocking christians or jews or muslims.

Just Google "Joseph Smith History" and "Pearl of Great Price" and read vv. 18-20 of that Mormon "sacred book."

It references ALL of Christian creeds as an "abomination" to their god; calls ALL Christian sect professing believers as "corrupt." They've printed about a million of these -- in over 100 languages.

Your ignorance is showing if you don't think that is mocking.

Remember that Mitt Romney has already said that he will discriminate against the world’s second largest religion, within his own administration, there will be no Muslims in the Mormons cabinet, he revealed.

I'll believe in Romney's spirituality when he stops slinging BS.

He is nothing but another 2 faced shyster!

Huntsman or Romney will never win against a black opponent like Obama.

The Mormon church taught for most of both of these candidates lives that blacks and dark skinned people are inferior.

It is a major part of the Mormon religion.

Yes a foundational principle of this nation - religious tolerance - I tolerate them saying I am an apostate following a fallen religion - and they can tolerate me making fun of them.

Besides, if you mock Mormonism now you are just a small minded religious bigot - and if Romney or Huntsman doesn't get the nomination it will be seen by the MSM as proof that Republicans are too Evangelical and not at all tolerant of Mormons.

But if either of them got the nomination - then pointing out the bizarre doctrines and rather shoddy history of Mormonism would be story A-1 front page until the election! And it wouldn't be bigoted when THEY did it! It would be couched as “concern” - we are “concerned” about the horrible bigoted Republicans who won't vote for a Mormon because Mormons believe the following.......

BET ON IT!!!! :)

Excellent summary. Bears repeating.

There will be panels on TV discussing the racist mormon past, polygamy, the planet Kolob...and on and on with the question...Is someone who has these beliefs the one you want to see with his finger on the "red button"? The media is doing its best to see that one or the other is the Republican candidate so they can play whack-a-mole!
