Beck Announces Major ‘Restoring Courage’ Rally in Israel This August

The motives behind Glenn Beck’s recent trip to Israel now make more sense with his announcement Monday morning that he will be holding a major rally in Israel this summer.

“I believe I’ve been asked to stand — in Jerusalem,” Beck told his audience recounting a list of times in history when people and nations failed to stand with the Jewish people. Beck explained, as he has often in the last year, how the life and thinking of the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer has influenced him: “He asked people to stand for the Jewish people.” He told of Bonhoeffer’s call for pastors to stand with him. Only six did.

Beck detailed current challenges facing the nation — “Things in Israel are going to get bad…it’s only a matter of time.”

“They are going to attack the center of our faith, our common faith, and that is Jerusalem. And it won’t be with bullets or bombs. It will be with a two-state solution that cuts off Jerusalem, the old city, to the rest of the world.”

“It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths all around the world.”

The event will unfold under the designation “Restoring Courage,” with a clear intention that it serve as a step forward from last summer’s “Restoring Honor” rally held on 8/28 in Washington, D.C.

Beck explained that final dates and details are still coming together. He expects that there will be a full week of activities in Israel. There will also be ways for people to participate from here in the United States.

As full details become available they will be posted on Beck’s e-mail newsletter.

Beck explained that a trip like this will be “really expensive” for anyone wanting to participate. He said his team has been working on putting together packages that will make the trip as affordable as possible for as many as possible.

“I don’t know how many people will come,” he said, “But if we can gather seven then we’ll have one more than Dietrich Bonhoeffer did.”

Nevertheless, Christ was extremely critical of those who won’t sing at weddings, nor weep at funerals.

HE was?

What does that even mean?

It 'means' that for YEARS MORMONs did NOT want to be associated with 'christians' [spit] at all!

NOW they want to jump on the bandwagon.

...Some off-hand reference to SLC was wholly inadequate, given your more detailed concerns.

Then the comment wasn't for you and you should have moved on. I fully elaborated in subsequent posts further details why I think Beck has increasingly become a phony over the past few years. I am not the only listener of his who thinks so because his 5 PM ratings have been in a constant slide and he has been pulled from 2 major market radio stations and a few lower level ones. You can't even listen to him on the radio in the city that he broadcasts from. It has also come to light that he has been using materials from others for his benefit.

http://dailycaller.com/2011/04/18/thedc-exclusive-conservatives-hit-beck-for-taking-content-without-attribution/

I find that bit of information very troubling considering his 40 days challenge. The true believers I speak of are the people who roll in here defending this guy at the drop of a hat basing their arguments off of the carefully crafted facade he has developed since moving to FOX. Most of these people have no idea what goes on with his radio show where signs of hypocrisy are more apparent over that last couple years. I have been a listener for 10 years and see daily anymore where Glenn is not consistent with the new image anymore.

Job began before man could put the words down.

HMMMmmm...

By the time it was written down, the context was missing because here was simply NOTHING left to compare it to.

And you know this 'fact' how?

We are high and dry, thank you Elsie. We drove over to Vicksburg Sunday evening ... had supper and picked up a few things at WalMart. Most of Vicksburg is operating as if nothing is going on. Watching the news, you would think the entire city is underwater. Here is a photo of the Mississippi from the overlook at I-20 and Washington Street:

Photobucket

The trees on the left are blocking view of the bridge that carries freeway traffic. The bridge that you see is the old Hwy 80 bridge that carries only rail these days.

This is so ignorant

The Jews are God’s chosen people

God’s promise was to the Hebrew people

not a political nation of Israel

Just because there is a BYU campus in Jerusalem

doesnt mean that the mormons own israel

mormons have not taken the place of the Jews as God’s chosen people

regardless of what has been written in mormon doctrines

Beck is also going to make a bundle selling his over expensive package trips to Israel to his gullible followers

There is always the bottom line profit when Beck does anything

BTW this is not the first time anyone held a rally in Jerusalem

Christians have been doing that for years...

The FACT that Glenn Beck has been standing practically alone on the airwaves in support of Israel is not bogus.

Try the founding fathers! It ain’t Cleon Skousen he’s quoting every day. He doesn’t sit in front of portraits of Cleon Skousen every day.
____________________________________________

Aside from the fact that beck might take a breather now anfd again from pushing the words of one of his main mentors Cleon Skousen and his 5000 year leap

beck quoting the Founding Fathers ???

Why on earth would he do that ???

The Founding fathers were Pre-Restoration

and everyone knows that momon truth wasnt invented till 50 years after the Declaration of Independance and the Constitution

and after the Founding Fathers were all dead...

Why would the mormon Beck vbe quoting all those evil apostates and Gentiles ???

Incase you haven’t noticed - much of Jerusalem is no longer walled - so what is he really referring to here?
___________________________________________

Joey Smith read in the Christian Bible that Jerusalem was a walled city during the time of the LORD Jesus Christ so he copied that fact into his religious book he called the book of mormon

Thats probably where Beck got the idea from...

I think it is the most interesting Book in the entire Bible.

Indeed, I can tell!

Nana, I meant of the so-called major conservative talk radio hosts. Locally, Jim Quinn has ALWAYS taken a principled stand for Israel. Mike Savage has as well. But of those who are on here, except for Quinn, no one else. I don’t listen to religious radio. In fact, I hardly listen to talk radio at all anymore. Hannity says the same things over and over and his infatuation with gingrich just irks me. I used to listen to Beck in the mornigs, but I am too busy these days. I try to catch Rush sometimes, but it’s easier to read the transcripts, That is about the extent of it anymore.
I didn’t come on this thread to either discuss, defend, or disparage mormons, because I try not to disparage anyone’s faith. That’s all. I have my own which I am perfectly content with.
You will note that Godzilla and I have CONVERSED with each other. I haven’t been rude and neither has he. I love the Bible. It excites and entices me. I have read it many times cover to cover and learn something new everytime. It is the most awesome Book on earth. It comforts me when I need it and steels me when I’m aftaid. I often talk to G-d out loud. I don’t proselytize and don’t like being preached to or at. But I do love to discuss. (The Bible, not other people’s religion or lack thereof.)

I listen to Quinn and Rose nearly every morning online

I dont listen to Savage...

Christian Radio...if they are Christians they love Israel...

many Christian leaders on radio and TV take groups to Israel every year...

The Christian Bible contains both the Old Testament...the history of the Jews...the lives of Moses, Isaiah, David, and the other prophets...the propecies of the coming Messiah...

and the New Testament..The story of the birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection of the Messiah, the LORD Jesus Christ...and the early Christian church...

As a Christian I believe every Word of the CHristian Bible..

Godzilla is a great FReeper...

an asset and a true FRiend to the rest of us...

Im glad you appreciate my good FRiend, Godzilla...

I was city boy all my life until about 5 years ago, when we bought this 13 acres out away from the asphalt jungle.

After a couple of years, my wife (city girl) decided it would be nice if we had a couple of ducks to run around the yard (It was the Easter, sell a chick or bunny season at the farm store). Well, they had no ducks, so while I was looking at the chicks, she picked up a magazine with a cute baby goat on the cover (Guess where THIS is going!)

Yup; SOMEhow we ended up with 4 of the little darlin’s!

SO, we’ve had them 3 years now. I wonder where a farmer would take his herd of critters in these floods?

Do other folks have extra pasture that they’d take in the hapless creatures ‘til the water recedes?

mormons have not taken the place of the Jews as God’s chosen people

Oh YEAH??!!??

Check out #10!!

Here is MORMONism's own creed:

Articles of Faith

The Articles of Faith outline 13 basic points of belief of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Prophet Joseph Smith first wrote them in a letter to John Wentworth, a newspaper editor,
in response to Mr. Wentworth's request to know what members of the Church believed.
They were subsequently published in Church periodicals.
They are now regarded as scripture and included in the Pearl of Great Price.

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Joseph Smith
