LOL!
OK I just decided.
If Palin doesn't run, Paul has my vote.
I guess you never heard of the Whiskey Rebellion. Something about the Whiskey Tax I guess that caused it. Yes Tariffs was meant to fund the Government, not protect jobs or protect companies who did a lousy job..
I’m surprised there are Americans who think the ocean can protect us from the rest of the world. Never mind the Japanese proved us wrong in 1941..
A vote for Paul = a vote for Obama....period! The next election will depend heavily on clear rational thinking and not on wasted votes by weak canidates or independant 3rd parties. Ron Paul only had about 5 percent of the vote on the last election. Why in the world would anyone stay in any race with 100 percent no chance to win and clearly losing poll numbers and clearly knowing that he is helping the opposition? Just sayin.
What you think the MSM doesn’t operate here in Texas?
Lots of name-calling on this thread.
Every word I heard from Mr. Paul during that interrogation, was based in the US Constitution. Every single word.
In eighth grade, we studied the US Constitution. I remember even the room. The Preamble. The wonder I felt learning about it. The respect, the awe.
None of that is evident anywhere, recently.
Ron Paul cares about Ron Paul.. He left the GOP in 88 after he called the Reagan administration a failure.
Who exactly is trying to protect America from the very real threats of the world now?
I see nobody doing so.
Even our side seems to be selling us out.
But he really doesn't do anything.
He even abstains on an awful lot of votes in Congress or votes with the Democrats on many occasions.
Ron Paul is no conservative and I'm grateful that he won't be on the general election ballot.
I've caught snippets of him on TV lately as I've made my way halfway 'round the world and every time I see him, he just sounds like a raving nut.
You do realize that Ron Paul does not support protectionism like you do. It is not the job of the Federal Government to protect jobs.
You want to tell me that republicans can’t win elections in Texas?
Hmmmm....perhaps you should learn a little more about Ron Paul.
Don't drink the Paul Kool-Aid and become one of his cult members.
You still have time to escape.
Try to track down a copy of today’s interview on Fox if you have the opportunity.
You may have preconceptions strong enough, you will not change any viewpoints.
However, I admit Paul at very least has caused me to think about what he says.
Nobody supports protectionism like I do.
Except Donald Trump.
I’m ok with that.
He's a Libertarian.
And certainly not a conservative.
How well does your opinion coincide with reality?
Full disclosure: Im a libertarian (small-l)
It is my opinion, our founders were as well
Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice ? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.Lots more of those abound. Way more than ought to fit in one post on here. To be a "Constitutionalist" means to share the ideals of those who were responsible for the Constitution, not to subvert the document to your own ends as the liberals do.
George Washington, farewell address, 1796
Our constitution is only fit for a moral and religious people. It is wholly unsuited to the governance of any other kind.
John Adams
Here is my Creed. I believe in one God, the Creator of the Universe. That He governs it by His Providence. That He ought to be worshipped. As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and his religion, as he left them to us, is the best the world ever saw, or is likely to see
Benjamin Franklin, alleged "Deist"; in letter to Ezra Stiles
It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.
Patrick Henry
And a ton of FReepers.
Plus posting what Paul would do without quoting Paul.
Paul may not get to the promised land but his prophetic message on America's future with useless wars and useless money, needs to be heard.
Bump the hell out of that.
You believe libertarianism and Christianity are somehow in conflict?
How so please?
