Prayers, please, for SandRat..

Oh my gosh, prayers on the way for SandRat. That has got to be very painful. Hopefully he’ll be posting again as soon as he is able. Cyber-hugs (the non-painful kind) and a speedy (as possible) recovery!

I'll post this as a teachable moment for Freepers.

SandRat is one of my favorite freepers. He posts great stories that don't get much lame-stream media attention.

And he's hurt badly from a fall from 4 or 5 feet.

Dec 8, 2009. I fell 5 feet onto a rock. I lost a kidney and a spleen, broke a vertebrae and three ribs and spent 2 weeks in ICU. Family dusted off my coffin because the docs told them I might not make it. (Family did not put the coffin back up on the rack, family... what can you say?)

As we freepers get older, FALLS CAN KILL. If you climb, have a safety person on the ground watching to call 9-11. Most of us aren't 18 and unbreakable anymore. We don't bounce. We break.

So have someone there to help pick up the pieces.

Buddy system for marginal activities, and double-check safties.

Thank you so much for creating the prayer chain. I have told him about it and his MANY great FRiends. You guys must mean a lot to him as the only words he spoke to me over the phone was to tell the Canteen about his accident before handing the phone back to my Mom.
