Attorney Sues After Spending Almost $19,000 at Florida Strip Club

An attorney who specializes in drunken-driving offenses is suing a Florida strip club, claiming it got him so drunk he spent almost $19,000 on his credit card, Courthousenews.com reports.

Mark S. Gold reportedly is suing the Gold Rush strip club in Miami-Dade County Court, saying he became "temporarily unconscious" during a drunken night at the club in November 2010 and racked up $18,930 in charges.

The lawsuit alleged that "Gold Rush knowingly and continuously served plaintiff alcoholic beverages to the extent that he was rendered intoxicated, partially or temporarily unconscious, and further to the extent that he had a complete loss of judgment, rational thought, or ability to enter into lawful contracts or agreements," according to the website.

The allegations reportedly say that the club "knowingly caused plaintiff's irrational state of mind, continued to ply him with liquor in order to charge his credit card excessive amounts to the extent of $18,930."

The lawsuit, filed April 18, makes no mention of how much drinks or services the 56-year-old Gold may have bought, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.

Gold is demanding that the club's owners, Turntable Entertainment and Production Company, refund him his money.

Wouldn’t be the first time one of those places did that, I have that info on good reference.

But what the heck was he drinking and how many dances did he have? I mean let’s assume he was there 8 hours (!?!) that is over two grand an hour.

I hate it when I go to a bar and the keep forcing me to drink even when I tell them I’m past my personal limit.

Oh wait. That never happens.

To paraphrase: attorny defend thyself !

Where’s Sherlock Holmes when you need him ? I’d wager he’d discover the gentleman created the debauche in order to cover up some other, less savory, expenditures..... >PS

The only strip club I’ve been in that did dances, charge a certain rate for 20 minutes.

So if he’s passed out and each girl claimed time with him for that period, he could get 24 dances in that 9 hour period.

I can almost guarantee you that stuff happens. I have a buddy who got rolled in a very similar manner, but he only lost a couple hundred bucks. Because that’s all he had in his wallet I guess.

""Gold Rush knowingly and continuously served plaintiff alcoholic beverages"

Unless they put a gun to his head and forced him to drink he has no case.....unless of course, depends on the judge sitting in.

Man, if you can’t trust a Mafia run strip club, who can you trust?

... was rendered intoxicated, partially or temporarily unconscious, and further to the extent that he had a complete loss of judgment, rational thought ... ,

He exercised bad judgement by going into the place.

'It’s possible that somebody spiked his drink.'

That is not what he is claiming. He is crying about the drinks that kept coming, in which he VOLUNTARILY downed happily...at the time, of course.

THIS IS AN OUT-AND-OUT LIE!!! He might have lost someone else’s money or charged it as billable hours, but there’s no lawyer alive who would give up his own money like that. There’s not enough tequilla in Mexico to get a lawyer’s money. You could rob a lawyer and say, “Give me all your money or I’ll put a bullet in your head!”, and he would think for a minute and say, “What caliber bullet?”
