Vanity: What is the official FR stance on Obama's birth certificate and the 2012 election?

I'm just curious what the official Free Republic stance is on Obama's birth certificate with respect to the 2012 election. Is demanding Obama produce his long form birth certificate a requirement of every prospective candidate? Is it the litmus test for supporting a candidate? So where Mitt Romney is rightly persona non grata around here it is OK to push Donald Trump and defend his positions because he is pushing the birth certificate issue? And write off true conservatives like Mark Levin and Michele Bachmann?

“...The certification of live birth provided has the certification number blacked out. (I’d like to know why...”

Very simple. Just like the SS# issue, someone else’s form was used when the Obama team produced their forged and fraudulent document.

I think you are right and I think his parents were never legally married as Obama senior had a legitimate wife in Kenya. And Obama junior does not want to be a legitimate bastard.

If that is his problem which causes him to hide the certificate, with all the babies born to the unweds, he is overly sensitive. It is more a reflection on his mother not on him.

The official stance is what the individual believes based on the facts they have seen. We are not a monolith.

Some believe he was born outside of hawaii. Some believe his real BC shows a different father than what is known. Some believe it is a waste of time to talk about. Some believe he was born as the COLB says.

Could very well be. I haven't heard this discussed in the media and am curious to know what the MSM has said (if anything).

U personally don’t think Obama will release it unless he’s forced to. Who besides the Supreme Court can force him to?

We need to focus on why conservative principals are the best way forward for this nation, as opposed to the collectivist left wing radicalism that is in control right now.
Conservatism will win every time it is articulated properly as compared to collectivism. Conservatism will make this nation a better place if we can use it.

People want to be free to make their own decisions and not be treated like children. That is why our nation was founded.

The birth thing is ok to investigate; but if that is all we have; we will lose.
Let the people who want to chase that down do it.

I understand people’s individual beliefs but if someone came here and said we need to get behind Rodney in 2012 I don’t think they would last long.

That's true, but I don't think that is the reason he is keeping it under wraps.

Obama himself admitted in DOMF that there was a chance his parents weren't officially married:

Obama in Dreams of My Father:

"In fact, how and when the marriage occurred remains a bit murky, a bill of particulars that I've never quite had the courage to explore. There's no record of a real wedding, a cake, a ring, a giving away of the bride. No families were in attendance; it's not even clear that people back in Kansas were fully informed. Just a small civil ceremony, a justice of the peace. The whole thing seems so fragile in retrospect, so haphazard."

“The real issue is about the office of the President having a certain amount of respect for the citizenry that they preside over.”

I disagree. I say the real issue is the integrity of the Constitution.

Here is my official stance:
The AMES straw poll is 4 months away.
The snow is melting in New Hampshire. Time to knock on doors.
The snow has melted in IOWA and SC. The campaign has begun.

My cell phone now has a New Hampshire phone number so I can call there without the caller ID problem as an obstacle.

Then again, if ya don’t want to play the game, buy a ticket and sit in general admission as a SPECTATOR.

My official position is “Show the darn thing like all other American Citizens have to, Mr. President.”

Then once you show it, Mr. President, assuming that it shows you were born in Hawaii, explain to us why the he&& you paid millions of dollars to keep it hidden and explain to us why that would NOT be a lapse in judgment and a waste of good money.

The official line is that they didn’t know if it was private / important information or not so they blacked it out just in case.

"... we need to get behind Rodney in 2012 ..."

better to get behind Rodney than Romney.

Rodney Dangerfield? Fernando Rodney? Rodney MacDonald? Rodney J. Squirrel? Rodney King?

From all accounts which are undistorted, his long form Birth Certificate (not the abstract, the Certification of Live Birth), is still MIA. As are a host of other background documents.

So, I have to ask, "What birth certificate?" We haven't seen one yet which has been verified as genuine.

Logically, there isn't a reason on earth he shouldn't have produced his Birth Certificate when originally asked.

Politically, he doesn't have a reason to produce it. His supporters, including the MSM, don't want it released. They are likely fearful of what information may be on it. Better to distract than to know the truth.

Many of his detractors are scared to death to speak of it. Their stated positions range from “I believe Obama” to “We (Republicans) can't win on the issue”. The people in this group, from politicians to radio show hosts, are alienating many of their supporters with their inconsistent positions.

The bottom line, this issue once again reflects how powerful the MSM is. Their continued attacks on anyone who questions this President's past, the types of questions which were called “Patriotic” during the prior administration, have worked to keep public opinion in check, and have kept most of his opponents intimidated, so far.

Reality tells us the main reason why an individual with highly questionable Conservative credentials is now suddenly among the leaders (in polling) as an opponent to Obama, is due to his questioning the Obama past. Will other potential Obama opponents now shed their fears and also question an undocumented past?
