the reviews on rottentomatoes.com are all from leftie columnists. of course they would hate it. of course they wouldn’t get any of it. the single clip i saw when reardon came home... they would see nothing wrong in that clip

and that’s the point

they are the ones the book was written about.

It’s hardly surprising that this would be a badly made movie.

Hollywood is trashing the Tea Party – get it?

It’s, like, subliminal.

I don’t get his scoffing at railroads. Ebert must live an insulated life and be unaware of how much of our “stuff” travels by rail.

I get stopped at the tracks often enough to know it’s quite a bit as long trains roll by carrying cargo containers stacked two high.

The only thing that sounds disappointing is that Taylor Schilling keeps her cloths on.

Throughout the history of Roger Ebert's movie reviews, I've found that anything he hates, I like, and anything he likes, I hate.

So this must be a pretty good movie, and I say that as an Ayn Rand fan who's making his FOURTH pass through "Atlas Shrugged."

Yo Roger, the future is now! I guess you missed the President’s class envy rhetoric the other day.

Does it surprise anyone that Roly Poly didn’t like it? Thanks for the input, Rog, but I’ll wait for a review from someone who hadn’t written it a month before the movie was released.

AKA Obama’s America.

I’ve seen hundreds of statues erected to famous and infamous people all over the world. But I have NEVER seen one erected for a critic.

How did I know that a diehard Socialist like Roger Ebert would hate this film.

Chin up, Roger! Keep a stiff upper lip!

Reardon invented reardon metal.

did he write the review before he saw the movie or did he just base it on a few clips.

Atlas Shrugged (1 star)

Well, then, I'll probably enjoy it. There have been many movies he rated low that we've thoroughly enjoyed and a number he's rated high that just plain sucked.

Apparently the thought police got to Roger Ebert - the movie is fabulous - Ebert can't understand that the mediocrity in American in the movie has caused the VERY VERY wealthy, of whom there still are some, to be shown as way over the top compared to the constant scenes of the working class poor on the streets. They did a fabulous job of constantly showing that despite the claims of the government to make everyone equal, it doesn't work - the rich still live a very indulgent lifestyle while the poor or working class have been forced out of jobs due to government involvement.

Maybe, someday, Ebert will be able to grasp the meaning of this novel/movie.

I have just returned from seeing Atlas Shrugged. Do not be misled by people who's mission it is to destroy this movie.

Instead, consider every superlative you can think of: Fantastic, incredible. amazing, wonderful, stunning...barely describes it. I was in tears more than once because it resonated so strongly. The screen-characters are perfect representations of the book-characters. When I first saw Dagney, OMG! My heart skipped a beat! I'm in love.

Go see this movie. You will want to see it over and over. It is amazing.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the Italian version of “We The Living”, a fine period film, and true to Rand’s emotional view, imo.

Would it be too much to ask for actual actors and actresses, actual production values and passionate acting instead of wooden recitations. Seen the previews, seen the extended scenes, this looks like some cheap USA network film of the week.

Its a great book, its un filmable, unless you spend real money on talented directors and actors. It looks like a crappy, desperate low budget production.
